Good but could be great!
My husband and two children, ages 18 and 20, really liked this property. The location is great and the pool area is really nice. The decor is pretty and the bed is very comfortable.
There were just some little things that were not great:
Although I fixed the curtains upon our arrival, every time I tried to close the curtains, something on them broke. I think they were installed poorly (an anchor in the ceiling did not hold from people before us) and the plastic hardware is if very poor quality. When the bedroom curtains were pulled all the way closed, there was still a sliver of the window that was uncovered (not that anyone was looking).
Something in the bedroom smelled of urine at times, maybe the rug?
There were absolutely NO HOOKS to hang towels on which was a problem. We finally purchased Command Hooks to use and took them down when we left!
The bath products were not labeled--we could not figure out which was body wash and which was shampoo so we bought our own.
Other than that, all was fine. I would have liked more towels since one towel per person is not enough for 7 nights but we made do. And, since there is no dishwasher, a drying rack would be a good idea. Also, a little vacuum would be icing on the cake due to sand. I tried sweeping several times but it didn't help much.
We heard a lot of noise from the college boys next door and smelled their weed. It did not interfere with our happiness though.
Finally, I was really bothered by the check-in process. Even though I have booked through VRBO many times, I still had to jump through the hoops for SEXTANT Properties, filling out a SUPERHOG background check and submitting copies of the front and back of my driver's license. I know it was spring break and they have to be very careful but it got to feeling sketchy as we approached our check-in time.
The cleaning people were still there when we checked in which did not bother us--it was actually very nice to meet them and they did an excellent job.
In my opinion, all of my complaints are easy fixes that come with new rentals. I would rent here again if I didn't have to go through such a ridiculous check-in process--it made me wonder what the purpose of going through VRBO is? Just publicity, I guess. I truly hope this feedback makes stays at this VRBO perfect for future guests!
