House clean and everything worked. Very beautiful location, very quiet, with open desert right out the back yard, a big plus for nature lovers, trail runners and dog owners. The house even includes an Orion telescope, to take advantage of the dark sky. Host was very helpful. Would highly recommend as a place to stay in Anza Borrego.

Pleasant stay

Check in was smooth. The location was quiet. The kitchen was better equipped with dishes, pots and pans, etc. for cooking than your typical rental, which we appreciated. There could have been a few more blankets for the kid’s bedroom. Overall, we had a peaceful stay.

Needs maintenance generally and poor host

We had high hopes for this stay given the past reviews and description. The home is fine but there were lots of parts that were faulty (e.g. taps that didn’t work, lights that didn’t come one etc.). On day three of five there was some rain and the property leaked in the master bedroom so badly that we had to pile towels by the window and move out of the master bedroom for two of the five nights. We contacted the guest contact immediately but had no reply for 24 hours. We also contacted evolve vacation rentals to let them know of the issue and ask for compensation for the disruption to our vacation and received no reply. We offered to wait to leave a review until they had spoken to us so they cannot reply to say otherwise. So our recommendation would be to avoid booking this property since Evolve clearly are not responsive or customer-friendly hosts.

Borrego Springs Stay

My husband and I recently spent 3 nights at this property in Borrego Springs. The location is amazing. We were able to walk out the backyard into the desert. Minus one star due to the cleanliness in the kitchen, however Ruth did offer to send a cleaner out. Overall we would love to return to this property.

Heaven in the desert

Beautiful home, quiet and nicely appointed. The great thing about this property is it's location, with the back yard vistas of nothing but desert, sunrises and sunsets. It's a short drive into town (Christmas Circle) and we rode our e-bikes around the neighborhood.

As advertised, the house situated st the edge of the desert, was peaceful, comfortable, and provided a space to enjoy the quiet beauty of Borrego Springs area.

Check in was smooth for the most part. Looked like a nice house, but after a couple days we discovered that there were many problems that have obviously gone unattended. When the owner stopped to repair the digital lock on the door he admitted that the windows needed help…. None of the windows open because sand was caked on the tracks, we tried not to wear shoes in the house so not to track in sand but there was sand all over the floor. There was no brooms in the house to sweep. Towels and wash rags appeared to be from a thrift store. We borrowed a broom from a friend which helped a bit. The yard is a mess, fence in back falling down, needs to be weeded and cleaned up. After the 3rd day my skin started to itch which I thought as just the desert copious amounts of lotion did not help and eventually i had a terrible rash on my ankle. We thought about leaving early but had obligations with friends on the area. We have been coming to Borrego same time of year for about a decade and have never had such an experience. We live in the desert and love living in an environment with little rain and low humidity. About the only two positives was the internet worked much better than usual and the coffee was abundant. We will not rent from this owner again for sure

Needed to get away

This location was perfect for a quiet get away to enjoy the stars at night and some light off roading during the day. Host was pleasant and very responsive. Would love to stay there agaiy

Borrego was 115 degrees, so the air conditioner in the house was much appreciated. The house is charming and cozy. The area is quiet and the views are fantastic.

Relaxing stay in beautiful desert oasis

We enjoyed our quiet weekend stay at this location. It's a short drive to the center of the town of Borrego Springs, and the interior is comfortable, more than enough space for two adults, and with all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay.

Great house for a hiking vacation with friends

We came with a group of 5 friends and family to enjoy day hiking in Anza Borrego, and the house was perfect for that. The location is great, the house is spacious, and the kitchen and BBQ were very useful.

Wonderful Wildflower Bloom Vacation

My father and I traveled to see the spring blooms. The home was a perfect base location, the neighboorhood is quiet, and we enjoyed the sunrises in the back yard.

Quiet desert retreat

House was very clean. Quietest place we’ve ever stayed and we love quiet. Our bed was very comfortable too. Right next to a large natural area so lots of birds and cacti - even a Roadrunner in the back yard! (We love birds). Heater worked well and quietly. Due to high winds the trash containers had blown over prior to our arrival and it took a few days to pick up the trash but not a problem for us.

Quiet retreat

The property is as advertised, situated in a small cluster of homes at the edge of the desert. The roadrunners, mourning doves and jack rabbits shared the back yard with our dog. Relaxing, comfortable and just a perfect winter retreat.
