Welcome to 'Firefly House at Selah Manor'! This 3-bed, 2-bath vacation rental home in Shelby has waterfront access, provided kayaks and a paddleboard, and amenities like a fully equipped kitchen, Smart TVs, and a covered porch. Brew fresh coffee, then head out to tour museums, go wine tasting, or visit state parks. And there's another rentable on-site unit for larger groups.

Excellent location and beautiful home. We were in the area for a wedding at nearby Crest Farm. The owners really thought of everything. We used the canoe and kayaks. The beds were very comfortable. We would definitely want to stay there again.

Great house, host, ramp, dock and location on Lay Lake. We brought our boat and met up with family for some fishing while in Alabama. I would agree with other reviews that parking is very tight, big thanks to the host for quickly solving our issue with the family showing up. The house is wonderful and clean- thank for sharing it with us! Also, the welcome basket was greatly appreciated:)

Wedding Weekend

This was a perfect weekend getaway! My son got married at Crest Farm Barn which was 30 minutes away. The host left snacks on the bar. That was a nice personal touch. Fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs bed was very comfortable. Grandsons loved the kayaks. Yes, you do go through a small rv park but well kept and didn’t distract from the experience.

We loved our stay. Everything was great. The grill that is in the photos of the listing or description isn’t what is there and we had to alter how we were planning to cook things. Also there were so many ant mounds in the yard. Had to be very careful where you walked.

Perfect spring break

Everything about our stay was perfect! The house was very clean. The communication with the homeowners was prompt and very accommodating for us, as we had a boat with us for a high school fishing tournament. We would definitely stay here again!

Amazing Lake Side Getaway

Contacted the Property manager to ask a question which resulted in us getting the larger home at Selah Manor, the Lighthouse, rather than the Firefly house. The property on which both houses sit give absolutely breathtaking views of the lake, and easy access to most of the most popular places on the lake. Tons of outside space, and the outdoor amenities—fire pit, hammocks, grill were a nice extra. The home was stocked with everything we needed and more, and was very clean and spacious! The fact we could take our two GoldenDoodles made it even better. Can’t wait for our next visit.

GET AWAY WEEKEND

Beautiful sunrises

This home has a very relaxing atmosphere. It had comfortable beds and was clean. The lake was beautiful and a great spot to fish, kayak and swim. We had a wonderful time with our family here. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

5/5 – Perfect Weekend GetawayWe had an amazing weekend at the Firefly Guest House. The location was perfect—only about 20 minutes from the city, yet it felt completely secluded with gorgeous 360 lakefront views. It was an ideal spot for our group, with kids ranging from 7 to 15, plus our dogs who loved the space just as much as we did.The included kayaks and paddle board were a huge highlight and kept everyone entertained. Having Bozo’s Bait Shop within walking distance was incredibly convenient, and Mrs. Robin was wonderful—she provided all the information we needed and made sure we stayed fully stocked with firewood throughout the weekend.The cabin itself was perfect: very comfortable, clean, and fully equipped with everything we could possibly need. The surprise s’mores package was a huge hit with the kids every night. We especially loved waking up to sunrise views through the beautiful open-concept windows.Evenings by the lake with a fire, playing corn hole, and watching the kids make memories were exactly what we hoped for. We will definitely be planning another trip back—hopefully in the summer so we can take full advantage of the lake and everything this beautiful location has to offer.Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cozy, relaxing, and family-friendly place to stay

Beautiful spot for a get away

We came down to visit family in the area and was looking for somewhere we could bring our boat to do some fishing. It’s a gorgeous property. Thinking about renting both homes out next time for a family reunion-there’s plenty of room for a large group.

Family Vacation

We really enjoyed our stay on Lay Lake. There was plenty of room for our family of 6. The kitchen was well equipped with items we needed for cooking. We were able to buy groceries at a nearby Piggly Wiggly and were able to eat out at a nearby BBQ restaurant .

Perfect spot and Close to family

We were so impressed with how nice this house was and having the view of the lake on two sides of the house was amazing! Sunrise was beautiful. We spent so much time out on Lay Lake. We had the best time. Will try for the same time of year next time. Loved every minute.

Vacation stay

We rented this house for the week of the fourth. The pictures don’t do it justice, this place is beautiful! The property is so spacious and so great for kids. Our kids had so much fun on the kayaks and paddleboards that were supplied. When we arrived we had all of the things that we needed and Micha was easily available and answered all questions we needed. The house was so clean and cozy, We will most definitely be back!
