Peaceful, comfortable and convenient river retreat

The Lodge is a peaceful and relaxing space for you on our property Stirling Parc.

Located in Killawarra, less than 10 minutes drive from Wangaratta, The Lodge is away from the main home and your own private space.

It accommodates up to 4 and has a well-appointed kitchenette and Weber Q gas bbq. Quality fluffy towels and bedding are provided; in winter the beds have flannelette sheets and electric blankets! It has air-conditioning and heating, including a lovely wood fire. The Lodge also has its own high speed Wi-Fi.

The Ovens River is accessible from the property for walks, birdwatching or relaxing. The large front garden is perfect for young ones to play, or to star-gaze away from bright city lights on a clear night!

The property is in a very quiet area with very little passing traffic - the loudest thing you'll hear will be the birds! The surrounding area is flat and it is a very pleasant walk or bike ride (approx 4km) around the block. The street is suitable for children to ride their bikes...supervised of course! There is also a bike path into Wangaratta.

Close to the Rutherglen and King Valley wine regions, charming towns and local walks, it's a perfect base to enjoy north east Victoria!

The Lodge is self-catering. Milk, tea, coffee, sugar and some basic cooking needs (oil, salt, pepper) and condiments are provided.

Perfect place to stay, especially for kids. The hosts, Emma and Max made us all feel welcome and made the stay extra special. The lodge was clean and roomy and had everything you needed plus more. Will definitely stay again if staying in the area again.

From the moment we arrived, we knew we'd found somewhere special.The villa is equipped with everything you'll need and some things you didn't know you needed. The perfect space for a family trip, with lots of room to spread out and relax.Emma and Max are fabulous hosts, with great suggestions for local produce and things to do in town.Their property is beautifully peaceful and with such easy access to the river, we will be visiting again and again.

Peaceful getaway

Had an enjoyable stay in a lovely, peaceful location within easy driving distances of both Wangaratta & Yarrawonga. Would happily stay here again but as a bit of constructive feedback, we would have preferred cotton bed linen as opposed to the flannelette ones provided which were a little rough.

This stay exceeded my expectations. My daughter had such a great time visiting the lambs and sheep in the paddock. The river was also amazing - so close to the house. Emma and Max were just lovely, wonderful hosts. The lodge was lovely and very comfortable.

Great place

Lovely place to stay. Very comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Very warm with the conara heater. Close to town & not to far from nearby towns such as Beechworth & Glenrowan. Will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay at the river retreat, with lovely touches by Emma that made this stay really easy with kids. It's a well appointed place with some books for kids and adults, games, extra pantry staples that helped make it feel more a like a home than just a rental. Our kids loved meeting the day-old chicks, and exploring along the river bank. and the tourist advice was great, and made last minute plans easy to figure out.

Pleasant and relaxing winter getaway

We enjoyed the peace and quiet of staying just north of Wangaratta in a rural setting near the Ovens River. The house was spacious and comfortable with everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the wood heater on the cold nights and the small tokens of hospitality from Emma and Max like the bottle of local wine and jar of chocolates. We used the place as a base for exploring the nearby Warby ranges and local wine regions (Rutherglen, Glenrowan and the King Valley).

Hidden Gem

Emma and Max were warm and welcoming hosts who made us feel very special while staying at their beautiful property in Killawarra. The Lodge is clean, comfortable and convenient which served as the perfect base for our weekend of riding the Murray To Mountain Rail Trail. It was gratifying to come back from a long ride and relax in the homely feel of the accommodation and its surroundings. With the inclusion of the picturesque Ovens River flowing past the backdoor, we can highly recommend this property and the very hospitable hosts .
