What a great get away!!

Such an awesome place up on a mountain. Great views and tons of in house activities to do. We had a blast and we’re not bored one bit!! We recommend this place to anyone that doesn’t want to be in the city, but still wants to go and visit downtown Asheville. We loved it and would go back in a heart beat!!

Perfect family getaway

I could stay here for a month, so so nice! Exactly as pictured and the view was even better than pictures could possibly depict. The gardens/flowers were lovely and we loved all the birds as well. The hot tub was already hot and so clean. So impressed all around. Truly a gem.

Looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a month or more, inside and out. Not dirty, just effects of not being used. Dead bugs it tubs and on floors. Dusty. Outside, leaves and debris everywhere, on stairs, decks and other walkways and area around hot tub. And just generally an older house that hasn’t been maintained, inside and out. Ceiling fan not working, lot of light bulbs burnt out, sliding door doesn’t lock, etc.

Gorgeous Views From Giant House

We met up with family post Christmas in this giant home. This house fit all our needs. The view from the balcony was breath taking. Have 4 en suites where everyone had their own bathroom what perfect. The kids loved the game area and hot tub. We give this place high marks. Also the drive up is steep but we did not need 4 wheel drive or special tires. We would definitely return to this gem of a home.

Christmas getaway

Pros:The property held 9 people comfortably, there were lots of games/books/tvs to keep everyone entertained, the house manager was VERY responsive and did the best she could, the view was beautifulCons:The upstairs heat had trouble for 2 days and we had to get a repair man out twice, the house was SUPER dusty and dirty which has been reported before in other reviews, the upstairs bathroom shower was grimy/moldy, the tankless hot water heater is in the upstairs bathroom and was VERY loud, the hot tub water was green, the house needs A LOT of TLC

I expected better

This was a nice place to stay and a lovely home. However, there were quite a few issues. First, there is a “private residence” inside the house, so you’re not renting the home in its entirety. The yard had not been mowed, so the grass was pretty high. There was hardly any water pressure, so showers were interesting to say the least. The water heater was super loud every time the hot water ran as well. The room with three beds smelled musty, the hockey table’s power cord was cut in half so therefore useless, the basketball shoot was stuffed in a small closet area and the balls were all flat (also useless), and there were 3-5 pretty big spider found in the downstairs living space. I wouldn’t stay here again.

We came for a family trip to Boyd Christmas Tree farm to cut down our christmas tree. The accomodations were great lots of space for the eight of us. The views were amazing.

Family trip

Pros: This house has ample space for lots of friends and family. Beautiful views from the two balconies Comfortable beds Communication with Donna started off well Cons: Needs a thorough cleaning. Accepts pets, which we were grateful for, but it was obvious everywhere. Carpets were unacceptable. Just was not clean. The kitchen utensils and cooking supplies were very cheap and lacking basic items. Kitchen was nice, but difficult to cook due to this issue. Please spend a little money here. Very few end tables. We were using boxes to put our drinks on, particularly in the game room. With the exception of the beds, most furniture should be replaced, particularly the upholstered pieces. Yard in back is way too steep to use. We could not get down to it. Overall lack of attention to detail. Shower head did not work in one bathroom, light out in another. My family and I have stayed in numerous VRBOs over the years. This one ranks average. I also texted Donna regarding a problem that did not need immediate resolution, but I did expect a response and heard nothing. This house has great potential, but it is not there yet.

The home was great for a long family weekend in the mountains. Amenities in the house were great!

Great communication with Donna, the property manager. Not a long drive to downtown Waynesville.

Large Enough for Multiple Generations to Enjoy!

We stayed here to ring in the New Year with our parents and sister's family. This house had more than enough space for everyone! We especially enjoyed the fact that all of the bedrooms had their own bathrooms! The sauna bedroom could use a dresser for clothing or to put personal items on and that bathroom definitely lacks any countertop space which proved frustrating at times. We had 5 children ages 5-16 that thoroughly put the game room to good use. We found that our entire family 11 in total spent more time in the game room than anywhere else. Some minor issues: both of the TV's were stuck on closed captioning, there was a missing dining room chair and one chair that was about to break, the hot tub foamed up really bad when the jets were on, and the batteries in the smoke detectors and basketball game should be changed out. These were so minor that I still give this place 5 stars because we could overcome all of those negatives because of the fantastic experience we had during our stay. The road is pretty steep going up to the house but paved the entire way which is unique given the incredible views from this house. Both of the upstairs and downstairs decks have incredible "million dollar" views. This place has it all! And we have already reached out about booking this cabin for our family trip next year!!
