Hidden Gem

We absolutely loved our time at this cottage. The property was spacious and clean. View was absolutely breathtaking. We travelled with four adults and four children ranging from six to fourteen and a dog. We found the cottage clean and fully equipped. We loved the guests drinks in the fridge ready to welcome us. Bed linen and towels were well organized and clean. There were lots of games and movies for everyone to enjoy as well as an abundance of water equipment we all enjoyed all weekend. Overall amazing day at this cottage and only two and a half hours away from Toronto. We give it a thumbs up.

Great memories

We had a great time making memories. Very spacious clean. Bunkie was a great extra place to sleep. Loction and view was to die for. Friendly neighbor. Lots of parking. This weekend was very special to our family as we were all able to gather on the deck. We bbq We talked, enjoyed the fire pit. Went for a walk. We came for a wedding and had a fantastic mimi long weekend. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Hope to come back next year😊

Property not as described, materially misrepresented.

Utmost dissatisfaction with our stay at Stone Mills cottage due to safety, cleanliness and comfort issues. Listing was complete misrepresentation of the premises. Items not up to building and/or safety code, or at the very least not on par with other VRBO cottages we’ve rented. Cottage in disrepair, fell significantly below standard of cleanliness. Hole in ceiling and buckled panelling. Kitchen utensils, appliances, inside/outside cupboards were dirty with food and grease. Pillows stained with blood and sweat. Bedroom ceiling full of bugs & spiders, which fell onto guest as they slept. Cottage averaged 35-40 degrees but there were only two inefficient grubby fans that barely worked. Not safe for seniors with asthma and high blood pressure. Some window screens broken making them unusable for fresh air. Other windows didn’t open at all. Bathroom door neither closed nor locked properly. No ventilation in bathroom. Host instructed us to take home garbage & recycle but we tied the bags and placed atop the bins. Listing didn’t make note of this and why should guests have to take garbage home? Very unhealthy to carry garbage in a car. VRBO’s mission statement… “Our mission is to find every family the space they need to relax, reconnect, and enjoy precious time away together”. Needless to say what was an anticipated lovely vacation for two senior couples ended up as an expensive disappointment.

Screen in disrepair, window unable to be opened.
Filthy window, one of which couldn’t be opened.
Disgustingly filthy pillow, stained with blood and sweat.
