The Space:
The Sheltered Paddock sits in the quiet neighborhoods of Warrenmang - Pyrenees Wine Region, overlooking a large lake and looking out onto the rolling hills of the Pyrenees Ranges. Summerfield Winery, Taltarni Vineyards, Pyrenees Pies & Takeaway, and Avoca Hotel are just a few of the recommended attractions our vacationers enjoy.
It's a cozy 155-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. This includes a waterless eco-friendly compost toilet, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please advise that there will be some animal and tractor noise during your stay with us as we are a working farm that cares for animals and crops.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and the surrounding areas, except the land host's private residence. We also have common restroom accessible to guests equipped with flush toilet approximately 15 meters from the tiny house.
The Neighborhood:
The Sheltered Paddock sits in a farming district with a mixture of cropping, livestock, and vineyards. Apart from local wineries, there is an extensive State Forest to explore, including, bushing walking, mountain biking, and trail bike riding.
You can also visit some of our local favourites such as Pyrenees Pies & Takeaway, The Olive & Lavender Store, and Home Made Cafe. All within a short 18-minute drive from the tiny house.

- Sally's Paddock is a down-to-earth winery place that offers live music and hearty food options.
- Avoca Waterfalls is a seasonal waterfall that's good for hiking, walking, camping, and nature trips
- Taltarni Vineyard is a popular vineyard in the area that serves the best barrel room tasting experience.
- The Avoca Hotel is a goldfields pub that serves food, local wines, and boutique beers served in a cozy interior.
- Blue Pyrenees Estate is a great place to grab a bite with mouth-watering tapas menu options to choose from.
Getting Around:
By car: 2hrs 25 mins from Melbourne CBD
20 min drive to and from the nearest town
By public transport: You can take the V/Line train from Melbourne to Maryborough or Ballarat, then a bus to Avoca. There is no public transport directly to our property. Can pick up from Avoca for an additional charge by arrangement and availability.
Other Things to Note:
- No mobile reception
- No unregistered guests or visitors allowed
- No smoking allowed on the property/tiny house
- Firewood cost is $20 per night and to be paid directly to the host upon arrival
- Please do not enter animal paddocks or yards without your land host's permission
- Please note that this is a PET-FRIENDLY property, and pet policies will be sent prior to arrival
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Keep in mind that "fence improvement" is on-going for a safer space for your pets. Hence, please keep an eye on your pets and have them leashed at all times.
Important note:
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- Please advise that there will be some animal and tractor noise during your stay with us as we are a working farm that cares for animals and crops.
- Wi-Fi is available for an additional fee of $10 per 5 gig. Password will be provided at check-in, as we operate on metered satellite internet. Please pre-arrange at least 24 hours prior to arrival.
- In order to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our compost toilets a minimum additional cleaning fee is applied for stays of 5 nights or more. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a hygienic experience during your stay.
