2025 Vacation Rental of the Year cottage completely surrounded by water!

This private lakeside cottage on a peninsula is surrounded by 800 feet of water frontage on Lake William and has been chosen as one of Vrbo's 2025 Vacation Rental of the Year! This property can comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests with 4 queen beds located in the 3 upstairs bedrooms...or up to 10 guests with our separate Guesthouse*. Spend your days enjoying the warm water and evenings connecting with others by the outside fire. The basement offers bar and table seating, as well as a shuffleboard. Airport and downtown are only 20 minutes away. Groceries/Costco is a 12-minute drive.
*Guesthouse offers a private 4th bedroom and is only included with bookings of 9-10 guests.
*Guesthouse may already be booked for some dates. If so, then the main cottage will only allow bookings of 8 guests.
*If at the time of booking, the guesthouse is not booked, then the guesthouse will automatically be blocked off by the host to prevent additional outside guest bookings.
*Guests with mobility issues may want to also book the guesthouse (only 2 steps), as the 3 bedrooms in the main cottage are on the second floor. Please contact the host if booking the guesthouse, as additional fees would apply.

This property was everything we had hoped for. Chris was a very pleasant and gracious host that greeted us upon arrival to give us a tour and helpful information. The location was perfect for our vacation as we were close enough to towns for access to groceries, restaurants, etc. but far enough away where it was incredibly beautiful and peaceful. We highly recommend!

Great house. Great hosts with an adorable dog. The view was incredible. The welcome gifts were lovely and so useful. The extras left in house by hosts were unexpected and luxurious. It was a perfect place to share with people we love.

Excellent property

This is a great property from a stay and enjoy the place option, to a jumping off point to see Nova Scotia.The house is very comfortable and the hosts go above and beyond to make your stay is all that you hoped for. The place is well stocked, including snacks, coffee and condiments. The beds are comfortable. and the setting is wonderful. Halifax is nearby. Highways to take you anywhere are only minutes away.I have had many VRBO experiences and I have never dealt with a better host.

Tranquil lake vacation

Fantastic home with outstanding amenities! This home is meticulously appointed with everything you need inside and out including water toys and spacious outdoor seating to enjoy the incredible views. This was the perfect spot for 6 adults to enjoy a day of sun and water or take in the sights and then return home to a peaceful place for relaxation. Close to everything yet you feel like your on your own private island! This is everything you are looking for in a vacation home so don't hesitate to book your stay. Lovely weekend getaway

My friends and I had such a lovely weekend getaway at the Waverley Cottage! Even though the weather didn’t cooperate, we enjoyed kayaking in the rain, playing games inside and BBQ dinners. Chris was an amazing host and offered so many extra touches throughout the cottage that made the stay stand out. There were mini toiletries available in case you forgot anything, a thoughtful snack bundle and fresh towels & chocolates on each bed. This truly was a 5-star getaway!

Celebrating a 90th birthday

My family gathered from three different US states to celebrate our mother's 90th birthday in Waverley Cottage. The owner was very responsive to our every need, even installing a grab bar in the bathroom for his oldest guest so far! The cottage was plenty spacious for the eight of us, and so lovely, allowing spectacular views of the lake on three sides. We especially appreciated the outdoor spaces, taking morning coffee on the dock, relaxing on one of the decks, and sharing family time around the fire pit in the evenings. We heartily recommend!

Family time

What a wonderful time our family had In Waverly. Chris was a helpful and attentive host and what a yummy surprise to find candy and cinnamon rolls waiting for us when we arrived. There were 9 in our group and the house was plenty large. There were paddle boards, a canoe and kayak available for use. Chris sent directions to the nearest grocery store and offered suggestions for other attractions. Very much appreciated. We built a fire , made s’mores and just enjoyed the lake. I think the highlight was seeing the Bay of Fundy and walking on the ocean’s floor. Just an hour drive and totally worth it to walk on the ocean’s floor. Would recommend this house and hope to return to the Halifax area. Thanks again Chris!

Fabulous Family Vacation Spot

Waverley Cottage was perfect for our family group of 10 people! We travelled from SK/MB to spend time with my daughter, who lives in Halifax. We were able to enjoy a nice balance of excursions to see the sights and lazy lake days. The lake is beautiful and we made good use of the paddleboards and kayaks made available to us. We spent hours on the dock. It's the perfect spot for visiting, having morning coffee or evening happy hour! The cottage itself was very nice and cozy and full of so much character! It is furnished and decorated very nicely and was well stocked with everything we needed. (The teenagers enjoyed the tv room and shuffleboard on the rainy days!) Chris was an amazing host. Leading up to our trip he always promptly answered our questions and offered great suggestions regarding local attractions. He met us at the cottage when we arrived to give us a warm welcome as well as a little tour of the property. He assured us that he was just a phone call away should we need anything. Without hesitation I would return to and recommend Waverley Cottage. We are already looking into dates for next year!

Beautiful, unique property

A beautifully maintained and appointed home and cottage on a unique piece of land that really makes you feel like you're on your own little island. Fantastic views of the lake and lovely grounds. Home has all the amenities you could want, including kayaks and plenty of life vests for all sizes. The owner, Chris, personally gave us a tour of the house on our arrival and quickly attended to any requests we had during our stay. Highly recommended - I've been renting on vrbo nee homeaway for over 20 years and this is one of the best properties I've stayed at.

Great stay!

The property was as advertised and Chris was an excellent host. The location is beautiful, cottage is great and you have the benefit of a quiet cottage experience with the convenience of everything you could possibly need just 16 minutes away.

We could not have asked for a better host and property. The cottage is beautiful with stunning views of the lake. Unfortunately hurricane fiona hit. Our hosts were right there for us with flashlights , hot coffee and anything we needed. They took excellent care of us . Highly recommend!

My wife and I raised our 3 children on Lake William and to this day they still say that the summers spent with family on Lake William was the best time of their lives. Mine too. Hearing from our guests on how they too made amazing family memories at our property is incredibly satisfying. We have made great friendships in the process and hope to make many more.

The Waverley Cottage (also known as Pine Point), is a well known peninsula/point of land jutting into Lake William. I've always admired the property, with it's majestic pine trees and amazing water views, so when it was finally listed on the market I knew I had to not only purchase the property, but to also share it with others to enjoy.
