Bundled between the majestic waters of Newport Bay and Historic Thames St. shopping, dining, and drinking, the Newport Onshore Resort will be the ideal New England stay. With Newport as the "Yatching Capital of the World," it is the perfect place to experience all types of boating activities, so once you charter your boat for the day, you can come back and unwind in one of the many pools or sweat it out in the fitness center located on site. Most guest's also love that within walking distance they can find the best museums, antique shops, restaurants, and art galleries while watching the sail boats in the harbor glide past.



Offering spacious one-, two-, and three-bedroom resort suites that comfortably sleep four to eight guests and range from 800 to 1,800 square feet. Suites feature private bedrooms with one king bed in the master, one full bed or two twin beds in the guest rooms and a queen sleeper sofa in the living area. You will appreciate the economy of a full kitchen and the convenience of a washer/dryer in each suite. Plus, suites offer a separate living/dining area, and spacious balcony.

A credit card is required for the $250 security deposit requested at check in.



The resort assigns the specific unit around the time of check-in so your view may vary. Let us know if you have a preference to be near a specific location throughout the resort or if you would like a specific view. We will gladly notate your preference and send this over to the resort as your stay gets closer. Please notate that requests are not guaranteed.



This is a timeshare resort. All presentations are completely optional, and not at all required to attend to stay at this resort or enjoy the amenities.



CONSTRUCTION : Seawall and exterior renovations to the South and East Wind Buildings will take place from September 2025 to April 2026; guests may experience noise, dust, odors, and work crews—dates are subject to change.

Very pleasantly surprised with the quality of stay and location. Counter staff were great; check in was lengthy for my friends who also stayed but quicker for me. I will definitely consider Wyndham properties for fitire stays.

We had an absolutely amazing time. The indoor heated pool is amazing. The gym is very nice. Our suite was incredibly spacious and comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

Excellent value and spectacular location!

Overall, quite happy with our stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Amazing location, right on the harbor and steps from the main street. The only issue we had was that the hot water in our unit had limited capacity and after filling the bathtub, when we attempted to top it up, the faucet was only producing lukewarm water. We brought this issue up with the staff and were told that due to our unit only being a one bedroom, that the hot water tank wasn't very big and it could only produce so much hot water until it ran out. The maintenance person may have increased the thermostat that day, because when we used the tub on the second day, it was just fine.
