Magic in Mangawhai

A wonderful space for everyone to enjoy. This fresh coastal property features an extensive entertaining deck, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and is positioned to enjoy all day sun! Our beach house boasts everything you could want for the perfect holiday.
Mangawhai Heads is a popular destination to go to the beach, surf, swim, estuary, shops, restaurants, golf, playgrounds and of course relax.
The space
The main house consists of 3 bedrooms, the master bedroom with king bed and ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom with a queen bed and the kids room has bunks and a trundle bed.
The sleep out has a California king bed and its own ensuite bathroom. A delightful open plan kitchen and living area with A/C opens out to the sunny covered deck.
Separate laundry with external access and outdoor shower to wash off the sand after a great day at the beach.
Large flat section, fully fenced, with room to park the boat or kick a ball around with the kids

Linen is not included in the booking fee but is a optional extra at $25 per person. If you wish to include it in the booking please mention in the comments and we can make a manual adjustment. Otherwise please bring top and bottom sheets, pillow cases, towels, tea towels and bath mats.

Travel cot is available in the cupboard, again bring your own sheet for the mattress

No smoking on the property

Please conserve water where possible as it is on tank water

We understand you are on holiday but there is a no party policy and ask that music is turned down by 10pm onwards as a courtesy to our neighbours.

House to be left in the same state as it was found on check in ie dishes cleaned and put away, beds stripped and left in a pile on the beds if linen was requested.

Please remove all rubbish and any pantry/fridge items on departure, we have provided 2 council rubbish and 2 recycling bags but if you require more they are available for purchase from the local 4 Square or New World.
Other things to note
The bed linen for the California bed is provided free of charge
Bed linen is available on request for $25 per person

The host was excellent with easy communication. The property is very well maintained and furnished, and also was well set with kitchen appliances etc. It was very clean and liveable. Great family space. Also relatively close to the beaches, the village and other facilities. We were very happy with it and I can strongly recommend it.

Extended family awesomeness

We were staying with extended family so having a separate space away from the main house for adults without kids was a bonus. The kids loved the box of toys, board games and books. Only up and over the hill to walk to the beach, and 5 minute drive to the playground.

Family holiday

We stayed 4 nights in this beautiful house, with friends from Germany. We loved the place, nice house with everything you need, great kitchen and a great location close to the beach and headlands. Would highly recommend staying there! James our host was very responsive and was very helpful at all times.

Kings Birthday Get Away

Perfect location & very comfortable house. Well appointed, the sleepout was perfect for the Grandparents escape. Highly recommended, will look to stay again. Perfect in summer or winter.

Everything awesome really, good location, nice house. Plenty of space. Only 1 tea bag left though, varying levels of empty or almost empty essentials but could have been just a one off

Fantastic

Great house very well presented. We are active so worked so well for hiking, biking and swimming. Layout is very good, great house to spend evenings in.

Multi family groups suitable

Lovely well laid out property. A few teething problems at the beginning of the stay but quickly sorted with the owner. He responded quickly and was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay immensely. We had 3 different age groups in the extended family group staying and the sleeping arrangements and sleepout worked perfectly. Would come back again!

Great place to stay for young kids to older generation

Our Xmas stay - 25-28th December 2023 We had my elderly parents with us so they took the bedroom with ensuite inside and partner and I had the sleepout. Being a rather tall man the californian king was just like being at home. The sleepout option is very good if you have teens that just may like to have their "own space". Our little great and great great nieces visited us and enjoyed all the outside area as they were able to run around alot and play on the beanbags. The neighbourhood is very quiet, no party goers and a pleasure to listen to the kids outside enjoying their Xmas Day and new toys. Amenities provided were well stocked with essential items in pantry and full kitchen cooking necessities. More than what I have seen in other Bach rentals. Internal area is a nice large airy area but we spent most of our time on the outdoor deck which is lovely and shaded. The mature trees on the property make it quite nice and private. James our host was very efficient on timeliness as I had a couple of questions I hadn't thought about. We opted for the linen service as it's just so much easier and I didn't feel it was over the top (pricing). Great having a washing machine and the IRON saved my Xmas day (wrinkly linen skirt). Garage is a bonus as there is another fridge in there for those that overpack like me! Well, kept all the beer and wine cool, essential right?! Excellent location for us as our Xmas Day was spent with family two streets away. I would def. come back!
