Find your peace at Bearfoot Nantahala, a secluded mountain sanctuary where time slows down. Whether you're challenging friends to a game of pool in the upper loft, stepping out onto the elevated deck, or gathering around the crackling firepit at dusk, every moment is crafted for memory-making. Sleeping layout includes a comfortable main-floor queen bedroom and a private upstairs king master. Ideally located for thril-seekers and nature lovers alike, enjoy effortless access to the Nantahala River, Tsali biking trails, Fontana Lake, and the Tuckasegee River.

Location: Bryson City- All Vehicle accessible.
o 20 minutes to Bryson City
o 35 minutes to Cherokee’s Harrah Casino

Amenities Provided: Cabins include basic linens, kitchenware, and a starter supply of paper products and toiletries. Guests are responsible for additional supplies.

Close enough to area attractions and activities but felt like we were up in the mountains. Saw lots of wildlife and the local livestock (Shetland ponies) were friendly and entertaining.

Place wasnt clean. Hair in shower on floor and dirt on the floor. Blinds were looked to be never cleaned. The grill thats shown in the add pictures you cant use because of over grown weeds even the yard grass had weeds and not cut. Totally not what the pictures represents or the almost 1.5 drive down a small dirt road. Wouldn't stay here again. If I could have gotten another place I would but had already rented so was out of luck. I have pictures of the property they should be issuing me a refund for the condition I was in to have to stay. Very disappointing seeing I was getting engaged and made for a terrible stay.

We had a great time, plenty of space, games for the kids to play. We loved the grill and the fire pit. It is a lovely home that is located just outside of town in a nice quiet area.

This property has Rodent/pest issues. I'm glad they attempted to remedy it after I reached out, but it shouldn't have been rented in its current state. Even after reaching out, the problem persisted. There was a live mouse in the living room the first night that ran across the room and was nesting in the couch. There are Rodent droppings in the pans underneath oven and in the utility room. They're definitely aware of the issue since they had rodenticide all over. The ants were also awful. They were so bad that if you were preparing food on the counters they'd have ants on it within seconds.The house is nice enough, but it was not relaxing due to pests and having to store all food in the microwave or fridge overnight to prevent pest issues. I do have photos of this, but don't see any option to upload.

Great Cabin

This was a perfect cabin for a weekend trip. The place was clean, quiet and comfortable! Definitely will be a repeat book for next trip towards Bryson City/ Cherokee.

Lovely cabin. Grandkids thought it was great. Watch for deer, dogs and ponies in the road. My granddaughter wanted to pet the highland cows in the pastures. Do take pictures of directions sent for check in, as the service going up is spotty.

Nice place tucked away

This was a beautiful cabin with comfy beds. They supplied everything you needed in the kitchen as far as basic spices, crock pot and great cookware. I would definitely come back! It’s not far from Nantahala and we had dinner at River’s End which was wonderful too!

Relaxing stay

The cabin was beautiful and was well stocked with everything needed. The firepit was nice and we enjoyed just relaxing there at night. Good cellphone reception most of the time. I would definitely rent again.

Quick getaway

The cabin was absolutely beautiful in a nice quiet setting off the beaten path of a short drive on a gravel road with no steep climbs! Check in process was simple and just overall a nice peaceful trip!

Polar Express Getaway

We had a great time staying here! There were 4 adults and 2 kids under 2 and it was the perfect size! The only time we went out was for the Polar Express at the Great Smoky Mountain Railway which only took us about 20 minutes to get to! We really enjoyed the games and movies the property had (they also had puzzles!). It was a very relaxing place and we hope we can visit again soon!!

Nice and cozy

The cabin was perfect! There wasnt a steep hill that you had to go up to reach it. The cabin was clean. The beds were comfortable. The drive up to it was very nice as there was a farm. We enjoyed our stay!

Secluded cabin

The cabin was nice and had everything you need for a visit to the mountains. It is located on a dirt road up the mountain. Maybe 10 minutes after you turn off Hwy 74. It is private and quiet. Pastoral views on the way to the cabin. We had a nice family trip.

Also written directions taped to the TV about Wi-Fi and TV instructions would be helpful.

AWESOME!!!!

IT was PERFECT, absolutely fantastic and there is no more to tell, as it was exact, no it was better than expected. We were looking for a calm and comfortable lodging, we din´t wanna be around people, only beeing for us. It is just a little drive to the Grey Smokey Mountains and the Nathahala Forest is just a round the corner. So you can hike as much you like. A supermarktet store and and a petrol station is also nearby. The cabin is stunning, absolutely. Much more beatuiful than the pictures show.

Mouse heaven

There are mice and droppings in every room Very unsanitary at night they came out and partied in the living room under the kitchen sink and bedroom closet. Very disappointed and an unhealthy atmosphere. Will not stay again and will be cautious using Vrbo again.

Hi there. We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay. Our cabins are on a monthly pest control program. Unfortunately, being located in the mountains and wooded areas, pests find their way in. We do our due diligence by hiring professionals to treat our properties regularly, and we have them treated more often when guests report issues. This property has since been treated for the mice issues you reported.

Poisonous Copperheads and Unkept Ponies

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin itself on the interiors was quite nice. Outside unfortunately we had issues with a number of Copperhead snakes and unkept ponies taking over the fire pit area and back deck significantly limiting our ability to use the outdoor space. We reached out to management but the whole team was off for the weekend and really did not offer any follow up, except that they would look into it.
