Great relaxing stay, super house

What a terrific property and host! Marilyn and her place were great for our Sunday-Wednesday stay with my wife and our college-age daughter plus her friend. The house had everything we needed for making breakfasts and lunches, with a decent mix of restaurants in town. Just plan ahead for some restaurant closures on Sunday-Tuesday nights. The little beach behind the house was perfect for putting toes in the water, digging in the sand, or floating in the broad river.The screened-in porch at the water's edge was great for morning coffee, a cocktail before dinner, or watching sunset. We've recommended it to friends and are looking to return.

This is an amazing cottage. Perfect location, quiet, personal with your own beach. Close enough to town activities, coffee shops and grocery if you need. We will absolutely be back next year!!!!!!

The home was just as pictured and even better in reality. The location was excellent, the multiple outdoor spaces were great, the private sandy beach was amazing and the extra amenities throughout the home were very thoughtful! Thank you for sharing your cottage with my family

Wonderful stay!

Our family, including 3 children under 6, had a great time! The outdoor amenities were what caught our eye on the listing and they did not disappoint! We loved having a beach in our backyard! The house was clean, updated and had all the convenience of home. Thanks again , Marilyn!!

Perfect place for a getaway

Very impressed with location and amenities! Screened in porch was used a lot for sunrise and sunset watching. Peaceful but only a 5 - 10 minute drive to any action. Family loved it and will look to book again in the future!

Lovely Retreat!

This is a beautiful home and property, so incredibly peaceful. We loved the sun room and also hanging out by the water. Communication was excellent, Marilyn is very responsive and clearly cares about her guests and our experience. We wanted for nothing and hope to return some day!

Lovely gem on the Potomac River

Such a perfect place for our family to be together and enjoy beautiful outdoors on the River. Enjoyed watching the swan family and other wildlife every day. The house was very beautiful with little extras that were very helpful. Our granddaughters loved playing with the bubbles. Very nice furnishings and attached patio that we used every day. The covered/screened gazebo was lots of fun playing games and enjoying the view. We will be back again. Thank you for keeping in touch with us.

Perfect mini getaway

What a lovely cottage! The views are beautiful and the house was clean and inviting. Can't say enough about how friendly the host is and her special touches throughout the cottage make for a nice stay. We will definitely go back!

Perfect Vacation

We loved everything about this property. The house was clean and absolutely Beautiful! Very spacious and the decor was beautiful. Host was super friendly and pleasant. Located right on the beach with easy access. We were visited by the swans several times. The screened in gazebo and sun porch were well used. Very relaxing. The view breath taking. Short distance to good food and shopping. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

Charming river cottage with gorgeous view!

This home was thoughtfully appointed to be sure we had everything we could want. A lovely welcome gift was left, there were extra towels and beach towels, soap and lotions, fans, coffee, and the list continues. Everything was clean and the linens were in great shape. The view from the gazebo is dreamy and the family of swans that live there make it even more so. They were amazing to watch - 13 at one count! A short drive to the restaurants in town. Great communication with the owner. We hope to be back!

Relaxing family weekend

Our stay at the Shore Cottage was everything we could have wanted and more. The home is beautifully appointed and impeccably maintained. Everything was fresh and clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed the amenities of the gazebo overlooking the water and our boys spent endless hours playing in the sand and water. Just a short car trip to restaurants and attractions, very manageable. The hostess, Marilyn, is very sweet and extremely helpful and accomodating. Can't beat coffee in the gazebo watching the sunrise. Will absolutely visit again!

Beach retreat

We had a wonderful stay — The house was as advertised and we loved spending time on the sunroom, screen porch and of course the beach! We were surprised to see swans everyday on the water— it was very cool! The one downside was the lack of mixing bowl, but I improvised. We would definitely return!

Amazing stay

I stayed at the property with my daughter and 12 yo grandson. We had an amazing time. The views alone are worth the stay and the house is spacious but cozy and well decorated. Marilyn was a pleasure to chat with (via text) and was very responsive to questions and concerns. She left a welcome bottle of wine along with beach pail and shovel, bubbles and a bucket hat for my grandson. Marilyn is a very, very thoughtful hostess. I wish I had booked more days! We will certainly be back.

Peaceful Riverside Getaway

The cottage was spotless, well-stocked, spacious and located in a quiet waterside neighborhood. We enjoyed sitting on the private beach, paddle boarding in the calm Potomac River, riding bikes, eating crabs under the covered picnic table, and playing games and watching fireworks from in the screened in deck overlooking the water. We ventured into town several times and loved Colonial Beach Brewing, The Ice Cream Hut, and enjoyed two delicious meals at High Tides Restaurant & Tiki Bar. The owner was easy to communicate with, friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return!

Colonial Beach

I was very impressed with the cottage. It was adorable and super clean. The view was great. We had 4 adults and 2 small children with plenty of space for everyone. Marilyn was super helpful and accommodating. Plus, she has thought of all the little niceties that make your stay go from good to outstanding. We will stay there again.

Perfection for a family getaway!

We absolutely loved our stay at Shore cottage. The owners went above and beyond, promptly answered all questions and even left bubbles for the kids and a bottle of wine for the parents! They’ve really tried to think of everything, plenty of towels, beach towels, blankets, dishes, etc. The private beach is gorgeous and perfectly calm for preschool aged kids to play safely. We loved watching the sunrise in the screened patio overlooking the water and spent hours looking for shells and rocks on our own private beach. A short drive to town we tried two great restaurants - dockside which is a must for kids and families and an excellent Mexican place recommended by the owners. We plan to return to Shore Cottage regularly!

A Little Gem Tucked Away!

Love this House! All the comforts of home and a little more. Breathtaking views of the river. Enjoyed watching the ducks and swans swim right in front of the house. I definitely will be returning.
