Towne Cottage Rockaway Beach


This historic cottage is a convenient place to stay in Rockaway Beach—it’s an easy walk to the shops and dining in town, and the beach is a two-block stroll away! You’ll be delighted with the updates to this 1925 cutie: new flooring and paint, a TV/fireplace combination in the living room, comfy furnishings and sweet décor will make you feel at home right away. With a futon sleeper in the living room, this is a terrific spot for a small family, but the single bedroom makes it perfect for a romantic getaway. You’ll enjoy a dedicated dining room and a compact but updated kitchen. If you want to take dinner outdoors, this home has you covered: there’s a barbecue, chairs and a fire-pit in the fenced backyard. Rockaway Beach has miles of level shoreline to explore, with fishing on Lake Lytle and crabbing from the jetty. You’ll also want to take a steam train line down the shore to Garibaldi on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad and investigate the shops in both towns. Towne Cottage Rockaway Beach is a sweet space for your next trip to this gateway to the North Oregon Coast!

The property met our expectations given price and location. The kitchen (although small) had very good equipment, which is important to us (sharp knives, cooking pans, etc.) The house was clean, the yard was as-billed, the bed was comfortable.

Enjoyed the location to beach, restaurants and salty Ukulete players I. Your city hall. They were very hospitable. The washer and dryer were life savers. Bed was comfy and this time of year, quiet. Grumpy for breakfast and ElTrio Loco best Mexican food.

Perfect place and price point for our 2 night stay with only a short walking distance to everything. The indoor fire and outdoor fire pit and grill really made it super cozy and usable. Already excited to go back!

Cute for a couple with a dog

Such a perfect little place for a couple or just a few friends with a dog, the fenced back yard it really perfect for an evening outside and your dog. It's definitely not a place for large people, the house is small and has very low ceilings and a tiny shower and queen bed but located so perfectly in downtown Rockaway.

Cabin in Rockaway

Overall we had a nice stay. The location is great. We did have a couple issues in the beginning but it was taken care of right away by maintenance. The TV was not hooked up to the internet and the cord had to be fixed. There were no sheets or blankets for the futon but maintenance took care of it right away after one phone call. This was really appreciated. We would rent it again

As I was traveling alone with my 2 pups, this was perfect. Clean, comfortable - close enough to the beach. Will definitely return.

Clarks Anniversary Weekend Getaway to Rockway 2024

“We had a wonderful stay at this house in Rockaway Beach to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary. The house was clean, comfortable, and perfect for our family. The backyard was a real highlight, especially for our dogs who loved having space to roam, and we enjoyed relaxing by the campfire in the evenings. The property met all our needs for a peaceful getaway, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend this special occasion. Thank you for having us as guests!”

Charming little getaway!

My wife and I loved this little property. Being a bit on the smaller side didn’t bother us at all, given a great layout and being well-stocked. The outside area worked well for us. The instapot was a surprise, we may have planned for that appliance had we known!

Rockaway Beach

We were very happy with the person that we dealt with as we had problems checking in-Ie. room hadn’t been cleaned and while we were out our food was thrown out.As I said though the contact at Meredith was extremely helpful and apologetic.Nice property and stay otherwise.

Cute place and nice backyard!

It is a cute little beach house. One of the doorknobs completely fell apart and a pipe under the sink completely came apart and water leaked everywhere, but I was able to get someone there to fix it on the 4th of July so I was thankful for a quick response and solution. Overall it’s a cute little place, close to the beach and we had a great time.

Location

We loved the location and backyard! You can walk everywhere! Beach, restaurants, and shopping. There was a bit of a smell that would come and go from the bathroom. But it’s a tiny old so it wasn’t anything we didn’t understand or couldn’t or manage. The outdoor garbage was half way full when we got there for our 4 day trip but the host was quick to respond. Nice little updates in the house and we felt very comfortable. It was our rescue dogs first time to the ocean and having the fenced back yard was great. The teenagers loved making s’mores in the fire pit and the big tv with streaming services was a life saver. Highly recommended for a couple or small family!

A health & safety hazard

We left after 1 terrible night. The back of cabin reeks of raw sewage (there is an obvious reason for the spewing electrical synthetic air freshener filling the space). Heat didn’t work, then came on at 5 am sounding like a jackhammer. The environment was disgusting & we feared for an electrical fire from the broken heater and exposure to the sewage smell (all odors are particulate). The PM offered to “send someone to look,” but we don’t go on vacation to inhabit a house where we are concerned @ health & safety, can’t sleep anyway, or with workers doing service calls. Not that I believe the investigation they claimed they did was real or honest. They “found nothing.” We were not afforded any reimbursement, which we feel is dishonorable at best. Skip this place. It cost us the full rental plus the fees (which nearly doubled the price) for less than 24 hours of misery. I will be reporting to the county health department.
