The house is beautiful, on a main road with well tended properties, around 1/2 mile from Tube stations. The caretaker was very responsive, allowed us to check in early, and provided all the info we needed. The back garden was lush and beautiful. We had nice weather so we really enjoyed sitting out with our drinks and snacks.
A few things to note, some of which are already in the property description.
This is not a place for those with disabilities. There are 4 floors, with bedrooms on 3rd and 4th floors. Also, there is a large step up into the bathtub.
There is no soap or shampoo but there is a hair dryer in the bedroom closet.
There is no air conditioning but there are fans. Windows open in the sitting room but not the bedrooms so they are warm at night. The breeze is pleasant with the windows open, but there is quite a bit of road noise, especially from the motor scooters, which are quite loud.
The microwave looked ancient and we managed to turn it on once or twice but never figured out exactly how to work it.
Laundry is in the basement so you’ll have to connect with caretaker to use it. We had no problem with that at all and were able to use it while he was at work. There is detergent available.
Grocery shopping is sparse, compared to central London. There’s a Tesco Express a few blocks away which has some staples but not a lot of fresh offerings. A larger market is around a mile away. Some smaller nearby shops had fresh produce stands out front. There are lots of great pubs and cafes within easy walking distance. All the cafes had fresh baked goods to go, too.
The sitting room is large and filled with all manner of interesting books. We could have stayed for years reading them! There’s plenty of room to sit and relax with tables for devices, etc. However, the sofas have definitely seen better days.
