It’s nice and cozy house! We just wanted to stay for family with our private rooms other than hotel. The house have the fence so we can let our dog run free without leash !

Perfect Ski Stay

Great stay

We’re a family of 5 with three kids ages 8-15 and a big dog. We brought our dog bed along and he slept in it. The yard was a great size for him to run around in and we also walked him down Main St. We spent most of our time touring Gettysburg sites and it was an easy 20 minute drive from most of them. Communicated with owner about an early check-in and she was able to accommodate us. Would stay here again!

Great location and fantastic host!

We had a great time in this home. Great location if you're visiting Gettysburg. We ran into a few problems like locking our keys in the house and the host was very quick to respond and help out. Highly recommend!

Soft place to land

It’s a great place for a quick stay. Easy to get into. The steps to get into the main area are a little tough especially without a way to block them off such as a baby gate. Beds were soft, well stocked kitchen for easy use of items, relatively clean, very nice having laundry on site as well. Owners were very responsive and easy to communicate with.

Accurate listing

Not the fanciest property, but this was accurately detailed in the listing. We needed a place that was dog friendly and the fenced in backyard was perfect for us. Place was clean and they bent over backwards toaccommodate us on Christmas day!

Nice for the weekend

Family of 6 stayed here for a weekend of snow tubing. It’s definitely no-frills, but worked great for the price and our purposes. Super convenient to Liberty and only about 20 min from Gettysburg. We didn’t get check in instructions initially, but when I messaged the owner, they got back to us with the code within minutes. This is a great place if you are looking for something cheap for the weekend.

Met our needs

Cute little cottage. We mostly needed somewhere to stay and sleep our family of 5. We ate out most of the time and only did breakfast there, we used the fridge and toaster and that’s about it. It adequately met our needs!

Good location spacious but the smell of dog urine was very strong. The rugs were full of urine. Took your breath away.

Just okay. Beware of hobbit door.

I left the majority of my feedback directly with the owner but I will add a few points for future users. This place "sleeps" nine and that is about all you would be able to do here. Nine people would be on top of each other here. Also, with the fees being charged by VRBO or owners these days this "bring your own TV" is nonsense. Spring for basic cable. The owner was very communicative. There was an issue with the hot water tank and she kept us informed before check in.

Cottage at Fairfield

Good location to go to Gettysburg. Hard to prepare meals with only 3 pans. Large burner on stove worked only on high. Dishes could be cleaner. We found dead spiders in glasses and cake pan had burned food in it. We had to scrub the pan to use it. We took quick showers and followed owner instructions to prevent running out of hot water but hot water would run out during the second shower. We're glad we did not bring our dogs

The fenced in yard was great! The pictures are very accurate, if you are looking for a place to lay your head with NO frills this is it. Could not get the t.v. To work I have all of my streaming apps AND bought the Samsung sharing app still did not work. Internet worked well for my job and to watch what little t.v. I could on my IPad. The couch was ok to lay on but for me was uncomfortable to sit. The one Queen bed was comfortable to sleep in (it was the only one we used so not sure about the others) It served its purpose for us with our dogs on a working trip, not sure how I would feel if I was vacationing.

Easter Getaway

The house was very reasonably priced and very clean. Although the house sleeps 9 people, it is small and limited storage area. It makes for a nice stay to truly get to see and visit each other. It is about 15 mins to the Gettysburg attractions and 20 mins to Thurmont, Md. - convenient for what we had planned. The information notebook does state that there is limited hot water. Although the water is definitely HOT, we had 6 people and had to stagger the water use to each have enough hot water and do dishes. We are not tech savvy people and had a difficult time figuring out the Smart TV and still couldn’t find many apps. The internet worked great for our purpose. The little fenced in yard was great for our dog. One of the three beds we used was comfy, the other two were not to our liking. Overall it was a nice stay for our weekend getaway.

Lots of little things conspired to make stay just OK

The unit was clean. However, the toaster didn't work, there was no light in the fridge, the bathroom light fixture had only one working bulb, there was no laundry detergent, only a few of the wall switches turn on any lights, the back door desperately requires a low-clearance sign so you only bump your head once. Hot water is limited, and I don't see how three (let alone nine) occupants could get showered and shaved in the tiny bathroom in the morning. There were plenty of linens and towels, however one set of bedding had a strong stale detergent fragrance — a chemical stench — that was intolerable. So we switched linens. Thankfully the smell was confined to the one set of linens. One double bed is medium firm, the larger bed (with the smelly bedding) is quite soft, too soft, so we switched to separate smaller beds in another room. The small but securely fenced-in yard was great for the dog in the morning. The step up into the kitchen will get you if you don't pay attention. Overall, the stay was OK, we are not likely to return though.

Family time

We had a nice time in a cute town. The house is within walking distance to the cute restaurants. We had time to play some family games that were provided in the home. Our puppies could hang out in the backyard but there were nice areas to walk the dogs.
