Stay was ok

The stay was OK all the ceiling fans in each room made lots of noise so you could leave those on and the AC machines were very loud and didn’t get cold. OK not great in the backyard. It would’ve been really beautiful if they had green grass and it was taken care of it. It’s definitely an older property Needs some updating.

we had been on the road for 5 days living out of a suitcase.. It was so nice to unpack and enjoy the beautiful home. entry to the house was not what I had expected. would prefer to have the code to the house before we are at the door. other than that it was an excellent stay.

Wonderful Home

We really enjoyed the home. It was a perfect setup for what we needed It was close to everything we wanted to do. Close to main road but not bothered by traffic. We had a deer in the backyard every day sometimes twice a day. The only problems we had was the lock on front door and the heating but I am sure it was our fault not knowing how to use them. We contacted Sarah the manager, she was quick to respond and less than an hour she had someone there fixing the heating and showing us what to do. We would definitely stay again next time we go.

The home was beautiful with all the amenities we needed. It was a close drive to dining in Montrose and not too far from Ridgeway and Ouray. The neighborhood was friendly and safe. The coffee bar was a great bonus. The river is within walking distance and very beautiful. We would stay there again. The only reasons why I didn’t give all 5 stars was due the “smart” lock. It was dumb. Hopefully it will get replaced to something not needing an app or WiFi. However getting assistance was immediate so that was nice, just a little frustrating. The second reason were the bugs, there were several, harmless but kinda annoying. Probably unavoidable in a country setting.

Could have been more promising…..

When we arrived the front door access immediately became troublesome. The front door electronic lock system needs better management. For about three days every time we tried to gain access we stood outside trying and trying with very little success. Each time we hade to contact the property manager for assistance. Finally after three days we were given a mobile app to use. It worked flawless! Why make your guest get aggravated on their vacation when a simple solution was available? Garage door access never worked from the outside. Also, we experienced small bugs in the main bedroom that would land and crawl on my wife after the lights went out most nights. Didn’t seem to bite but were aggravating.

Christmas with the family

We stayed in the house over Christmas as an overflow to a family gathering basically down the block. That was super convenient, as we could walk back and forth in no time. The house was spacious, clean and welcoming. The tea and coffee were an added nice touch, and the popcorn and cookies were a nice surprise! As some other reviewers noted, we too had some trouble with the front door lock. Thankfully, we were able to get into the house when we first got there, but after that, even with several of us trying, the lock would just not function properly. Sarah (the manager) was super receptive, and re-set the code but still, trouble…… She admitted the lock is fussy. It wasn’t a huge deal since we just went in and out of the garage, which was easy enough to do with an access code there which worked without any problems. Sarah was very communicative even over the Christmas break, so we were thankful for that.
