Beautiful Splash Pool and Quiet Neighborhood

This home is beautiful, and the splash pool is wonderful! You can walk 10 minutes to the turtle release and beach. The beach is beautiful, but no swimming or surfing there. The location is quite far from town; you will need to rent a car or a motorcycle to get into Puerto Escondido, and the road into town can be a bit challenging during the rainy season. We enjoyed visiting the nearby town of Bajo de Chile, which is closer than Puerto Escondido. We were there during the low season, so we were usually the only people in the neighborhood, which was kind of too quiet. The local manager was very helpful when we needed help with anything.

Casa Seahorse is a special place for us. We took it upon ourselves to pursue our dream of purchasing a place in Mexico to get ready for retirement which is sadly still a few years away. We have enjoyed many trips back to our oasis in the meantime. We truly built the house of our dreams and are so happy with it. We are excited for you to get to enjoy it as well. What is special about Seahorses of course is that they mate for life and the swim around the ocean often holding on to each other. That is why we chose the name. Casa Seahorse is great for families, adults, or singles. Come to Casa Seahorse and use our oasis as your special place as your explore what this small beautiful beach city has to offer.

Casa Seahorse is a new development with construction in the area but it has never interrupted our siestas and is barely noticeable. Most of what you hear are the workers singing and listening to Mexican music. There are approximately 9 houses either developed or under development. Home-owners are from many countries.

Puerto Escondido is popular as a surfing destination among international travellers. It is also highly popular among Mexican travellers. It is also renowned for its gastronomy and has some of the best mixology, coffees, smoothies and shakes we have ever tasted.

Casa Seahorse is located in a semi-secure location outside the city. It is an approximate 10-15 minute drive to the city. Here you can enjoy our modern home that sleeps 6 (one king bed in a master bedroom, a comfortable foldout couch in the living room and a murphy bed in the dining area). Enjoy spending time on the balcony off the main bedroom or the ground floor deck. If it gets too hot, as you know it will, then take a plunge into our swimming pool that is maintained 3 times per week. If you want to enjoy air conditioning….we have that. If you prefer the natural warm air flowing though the house, then let the air flow through the screens on the deck glass doors. You can also enjoy a hot bath in a nice big tub, which is a rarity here as most places have only showers. If you are working from away, we have the best internet on the market with Starlink as well as a power back up supply. While there are often power outages in the rainy season, our connectively is very good.
