The Orchard House was absolutely wonderful. It was historic, tastefully understated, spacious, lovingly lived-in, well-stocked with everything we needed. We gathered our family from various states in the Midwest and one from Boston to spend a long weekend on Lake Michigan. We had 7 staying at the house (ranging from college students to middle-aged parents to our 85-year-old father). Then, we had 7 more join us for the day on that Saturday (the youngest was 13 years old) ending in a cookout (they stayed in a hotel, but if you have a large group, you could rent the nice house next door). We used the relaxing screened in porch for coffee and meals, played yard games in the back, had drinks on the deck above the bluff to watch the waves and sunsets, and swam and searched for interesting rocks on the private beach below. It was a magical stay. We had one problem in that our elderly father had some medical issues while there, but he received excellent care from Zeeland Community Hospital which was an easy drive away. Overall, we truly loved our time there and were sad to leave the magic of this beautiful setting behind.
