Beautiful, Spacious Lake house near Kaslo, BC

My family and I stayed at this property for three nights it was an amazing experience the host James was wonderful and very accommodating, the house was very spacious and comfortable. The process was very easy and I would recommend anybody looking to spend time in the area to book this beautiful lake house, you will not be disappointed, the view was incredible and fishing was great. The locals were friendly and welcoming.

Huge space in a stunning location

We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay at this beautiful location with our family of four and our friends’ family of four. It’s very quiet and peaceful with stunning views while also being a short 10 minute drive into Kaslo. We were blown away by the amount of space in the home and outside; with decks in almost every direction. We found everything we could possibly need to make our stay comfortable and easy!

Extraordinary starlit oasis

This is a wonderful vacation home - lots of space and lighting. Manager James was available and prompt in replying by text. Location of property on the lake is fantastic. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing

This property was an amazing expereince. It was perfect for a family getaway. Everything you could need within a 10 minute drive. The beach just a stone throw away was just what we needed with the young kids. They had a blast. Thank you so much for everything.

Fantastic Stay

It's a great house for a large family or group of friends. We had so much fun exploring the area and hanging out playing games and enjoying the views. We did ziplining, caving and hot springs nearby, rented a pontoon boat for a day on the water and there were still things that we wanted to do but ran out of time. I guess we'll have to come back next year. The golf courses nearby looked amazing.

Great location, very spacious house

Great property, great view of the lake from the balcony. Larger than it looks in the photos. Host was very responsive to requests and questions. It was suprising how much extra this booking website adds to the overall price... It was significant.

Stunning view

It was good and not great, only that there were very few smallwares for a group of 6. Loving to cook and entertain, it was a little sparse. Looked like the yard hadn't had any care for a while, nor the outside of the place and especially the deck. With a toddler, that was a little dicey. More importantly there are no handrails down to the lake with a very steep stairway. Which is tough to access. I'd suggest it get addressed or it get closed off for safety reasons. Location was good, view was amazing, house was nice.

Amazing lake view and very spacious modern house

The lake and mountain views at this house was just unbelievable, much better than the list photos. We enjoyed our coffee with million dollars lake views at the living room, deck and every corner in this house. The home is super clean, very spacious, comfy and well stocked. James responded promptly our single inquires and very helpful to provide local travel tips. We got everything we could need at this home for our stay, everyone was very happy, definitely will be back in the near future.

Sweeping Views

This property is huge (5 large bedrooms) with sweeping views of Kootenay Lake and the Purcell mountains. There are beautiful gardens in the front with plenty of room for kids to play. there's a decent beach within walking distance from the property. The property is waterfront but with the rocky shoreline, swimming is challenging. The kids enjoyed fishing off the rocks and jumping into the water. The property is walking distance from Fletcher Falls and a very short distance from Kaslo. We really enjoyed our stay.

Kootenay Life

First of all, the house and the location was perfect! There is no direct water access, though it is waterfront. But there is access just a short walk away. The house captures the lake views at every opportunity. It’s gorgeous. The pictures do not do it justice. It’s a short drive to Kaslo, super close to Fletcher falls and the Woodbury marina. We rented a boat from jones boys, right beside Woodbury, so it was incredibly convenient. The yard is magical. All of it seemed like a slice of heaven.James, our host was very accommodating. And not to mention, thoughtful. The house has everything you need. Just bring groceries. I think we will definitely be back!The area is like none other. Seriously. So much to do. We could’ve stayed another week, just to fully explore everything. Thanks for the amazing hospitality, James!!!

Enjoyable stay in a beautiful location

The house is a spacious, easy place for a fun stay on Kootenay lake. The property is easy to access with ample driveway and parking. The house, itself, seemed bigger than pictured, and there was ample space for our two families. The kitchen has everything you need. It felt private, though there are other properties along the road. The views of Kootenay Lake and surrounding mountain ranges are beautiful and easily taken in from the rear deck spaces. Though, it is notable that the water is not easily accessible from the property, but if you continue down the neighbourhood road you can find a more accessible way to the water. Also, Fletcher Falls, Ainsworth Hot Springs, and the charming town of Kaslo are all close by. We rented a Pontoon boat for two days from the Jones Boys boat shop, which is just 8 min away by car, next to the Woodbury Marina. The lake is huge, scarcely another boat around, and we had hours of fun out on the water and exploring the lakeshore offerings (beaches, cliffs, springs) near and far. Even in less than ideal weather (a little cold and rainy). The only downside to note is that you need to pack out your own garbage. The host supplied all the necessary information regarding where to bring the garbage, it was just a little hard with vehicles packed full of luggage and kids! We brought ours to the Balfour dump, which was easy enough to get to, as we were headed that way anyway. The host does take care of recyclables though, which was helpful.

This is a beautiful home with a fabulous view of the lake. The deck is an excellent place to sit and visit with a cup of coffee while enjoying the tranquility of the spot. The home is also spacious and easily accommodated our 3 families getting together. Things to be aware of: The owner has cameras set up outside the home (I'm hoping they are just outside) and was continually checking in. We opened the front door to cool down the house on our first day we got a text asking us to close the door. We had family staying close by at the hotsprings - they stopped in for a 90 minute visit, we got another text asking how many people were staying. The how many people staying turned into a saga of text messages. When booking I contacted the owner as we were a group of 12 people - The owner charged me extra for our 2 extra guests and assured me we wouldn't be charged anymore. One family ended up bringing their nephew along taking our group to 13. We brought everything we needed to accommodate his stay. The owner then insisted on charging extra and wanted to charge more for the extra 2 that we had already paid for. I understand there is an extra charge for extra guests, that wasn't a problem. The entire night of texting (until 1 in the morning when I finally just turned my phone off) was a problem. The feeling of being watched while we were on holiday was a problem. We had gone out of our way to be upfront about bringing extra people and were treated very poorly.
