Perfect spot

My partner and I went up for my moose hunt and stayed at this cabin. It had everything we needed, and the little mud room in front was great for wet shoes. My partner sat on the porch at night to enjoy a cigar and relax. We had one question, and the owner answered quickly. The restaurant right around the corner has good food, and the people there are very nice. I would stay here again next time I visit.

Maine cottage

We enjoyed our stay as friends own a camp on the lake and came up to visit with them. Location was good and we were visited by a flock of turkeys on several days. We were disappointed with the “beds”. Very uncomfortable and my husband could not stretch out. I would recommend getting real beds as the foam padding did little to improve the situation. Would rent again if the sleeping situation was upgraded.

Portage stay

The refrigerator was shut off and closed and smelled awful. Need to leave the doors open. There was only one tiny frying pan to cook with. I had to borrow one from a neighbor. The stairs are very steep and can be dangerous going up and town. I was grateful for the towels because I forgot mine. Loved the location, very convenient for Portage days. The photos on the page needs to be updated I thought the house was blue/ brown, it was green.

Hi Sherry, we’re glad you enjoyed the location, but we’re sorry other aspects fell short of expectations. After sending your feedback to the owner, we’d like to share the following: - We apologize for the refrigerator issue. The cleaner had turned the dial down to de-ice the freezer and unfortunately forgot to turn it back on. The fridge is brand new and is thoroughly cleaned between visits. - We appreciate your suggestion about the cookware and will be adding more pans to better accommodate future guests. - The stairs do have rails on both sides to help mitigate the steepness, but we understand that they may still feel challenging for some guests. - The exterior of the home has been recently repainted to achieve a cleaner, more modern look. A photoshoot is scheduled soon to update the listing with the new exterior photos, ensuring our guests have an accurate and fresh view of the property. - We wish you had reached out to us during your stay to address any issues you were experiencing. We would have done everything we could to resolve them immediately so that you could enjoy the home. We do all we can to make our homes the best possible stays, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.
