The Governor's Suite is located in the beautiful and picturesque neighbourhood of Governor's Brook - just 15 minutes from downtown Halifax and 10 minutes to Bayers Lake!

Whether you are an individual traveling for work, a couple looking to getaway for a cozy night or someone looking for a longer stay, the Governor's Suite has something for everyone. This 1 bedroom and 1 bath executive suite offers a personalized office/desk space, personalized hot tub, fire pit a barbecue and much more! You also have your own kitchenette and dining area for a nice and cozy dinner while watching Netflix or show of your choice. Located just a one minute walk you will find the infamous Macintosh trail system for biking or hiking. Take a stroll to Colpitt lake just a 20 minute hike/walk from your door and take a swim in the lake! There are many hiking trails in close proximity. Looking for local pubs, restaurants, fitness facilities or entertainment? No problem! You are just 5 minutes away from everything you need like the historic Station Six Pub, Pavia Cafe, KinFix Health & Fitness, groceries stores and much more!

The room itself was great. Good location, great amenities (hot tub was wonderful) and was clean and well priced. Julien was a good gost as well and communicated well.One thing that wouldve been good to know prior to arriving was the presence of the dog, as my partner has a dog allergy and was somewhat affected by her allergies. Also, the lock on the door was very loose and should be fixed.

Cute little unit and we enjoyed the hot tub. Nice view overlooking the adjoining par. A bit of a distance from downtown halifax in the traffic was crazy with construction on all the roads. But it was easy for us to leave the unit and continue on our journey

If you have made reservations for this place cancel it unless you don’t mind cooking and leaving in dirt. There is no stove although on two of their sites it states it does. They do however have a hot plate that is ready for the dump. There is no kettle however the host did tell me that the coffee pot has hot water for tea. No toaster. However there is a toaster oven that is also ready for the dump. There is two dinner plates and two bowls. That is it. If for some reason you need an extra plate you’re out of luck. As for a shower the shower door is also filthy. Because of the the mess we just slept there. Ate three meals a day at restaurants which was not in our budget. All reviews said it was an excellent place to stay. NOT. I could go on with other things but I may run out of space.

In a safe/quiet neighborhood, very pleased of how fast the owners of the house responded to my text/call when I was trying to check in. They were so kind and pleasing and made sure I had what I needed. Hot tub was great!

Overall great stay! Very kind and very patient, even when we were having trouble finding access to the our account, they were patient with us and provided everything we needed for our stay! Everything was just as we read on the description!! Great stay, highly recommend staying!

The apartment was decorated very nicely and felt very comfortable. The lighting to the back door was very helpful. More attention cleaning the bathroom shower would be appreciated.

Great place to stay!

Beautiful and safe area not far from Halifax itself. Hottub was a major bonus! The host was amazing and always checked in to see if we needed anything.

Not quite the same..

We thought it did not represent wht it said, no welcome kit.. flight came in at 2:00 in morning, no water, 4 coffee pods, one teabag for 3 days, sugar container empty with crap in it, grass looked long, was cut when we left for breakfast the next day, fire pit had cigarette butts, beer can outside of it, pillows dirty with stains and only one each, housecoats left for hot tub, old, ripped, old stain on it.. when it said kitchen, they should say kitchenette, no oven but a portable stovetop one and a half roll of toilet paper for 3 days, I don’t except brand new but if it’s stained, and old!!! Oh and the dog, we came back to rest one afternoon and they must have been out, the dog barked for hours, and woke us up in the morning…

Adequate, not an Executive Oasis

Greater attention to detail needed to bring it up to the executive oasis level. 1. Fix the door! Cracked door, difficult to lock deadbolt, security issue. Light by door burned out, path needs proper walkway.2. Dirt in footwell of hot tub and water not as clear as it should be even though the host said it was chemically balanced. Needs new filter and/or drain and refill. We have owned hot tubs so know what to do.3. Hot tub cover waterlogged, heavy to lift, needs replacing. Lifter not properly installed, difficult to use.4. Cob webs in corners and on the ceiling. Marks on the walls. Shower doors dirty at the bottom. I found crumbs, popcorn and dirt under the couch cushions. 5. Kitchen area needs a power bar on the wall to plug in the microwave. New toaster and kettle required. Organize bins and clean under sink. Paint, repair cupboard. Cracked plastic glasses, host brought different ones. No dish cloth.6. Need new bath towels, hand towels and face cloths. Towels smelled musty, one towel had a hole.7. Replace loose transition strip in the bedroom doorway. It does not fit. Clean marks on walls in this room. Also, it looks like it needs another coat of paint to properly cover.8. Sound transfer from upstairs. If we could hear them, I am sure they could hear us. The door between the rental unit and the hosts’ space is a pocket door may also allow sounds to travel.9. Started getting ants inside on the last days of our stay.More detailed feedback for host available.

Relaxing

My hosts Julien and Juliana were amazing and so quick to respond to any inquiries or concerns. I’m not a hot tub owner, and had questions about running the hot tub, I was in that hot tub every night, it was almost magical, rolling hills and deer visiting the the backyard nightly! As I said, my hosts are awesome and the suite is just a perfect place to relax. Will definitely book again with these awesome hosts!

Amazing property, but needs maintenance

We very much enjoyed our stay on the property, very nicely decorated, cozy even in March, close to town and to tourist locations nearby, and the hot tub was very luxurious. Aside from the path not being very well lit/maintained, and the place needing a once-over cleaning (dusty dishes, spare items of clothing), our main problem with our stay was that the front door lock is partially broken and does not close properly. The owner stated that he is working to get it fixed and could come help with the lock if needed, but it was a lot of hassle to get locked properly and didn't leave us feeling the most confident with our things there. We would recommend the property for your stay in Halifax, but only after ensuring the owner fixes the front door. The Owner himself was incredibly kind and helpful and we expect the door to be fixed very soon.

A wonderful getaway for New Years!

We loved spending our New Years together here at this property. Everything was very nice, especially the hot tub. Great place to relax, and it wasn't a far drive from stores and such. The only complaint we had was the bed was a touch too hard (for her anyways) but this was easily remedied by just folding up some blankets to use as cushions. Recommended to bring some kind of mattress topper if you prefer a softer bed. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our hosts! Thanks again, Julien and Juliana!P.S. their dog Marty is a cutie
