You can’t get much closer to the towering redwoods of Northern California than a stay at this Orick, CA, vacation rental. This cozy 2-bed, 1-bath cottage, on the edge of Prairie Creek, is located equally between the beaches lining the ocean and the giants of Redwood National and State Parks. Head out for a hike up to Trillium Falls, go for a horseback ride along Redwood Creek, or hit a nearby beach for some time next to the surf. Fire up the grill for a home-cooked meal when you get back.

This cottage was beautiful. It was in a perfect location and the owners took great care in the details. The decor, available storage, and amenities for us were fantastic. There was fresh baked bread for us, coffee, pots and pans, a washer/drier, and comfortable beds. We really enjoyed our stay!

Perfect Location for Redwoods visit

This was a great place to hang with my family of 4 when not enjoying the outdoors. We did have 2 minor hiccups that just were out of the control of the host. The beds are very comfortable and the basic kitchen needs are all there with a few unexpected extras (coffee additives and condiments in the fridge). Frisco the dog was a very pleasant surprise.

Delightful Cozy Cottage

We truly enjoyed our stay in the little blue house. It is decorated very nicely and quite functional. The location in Orick was great for all the hikes we wanted to do. Ed and Sherry were friendly and helpful. It was a perfect stay for us. Outstanding cottage and location. Thank you!!

Perfect location/ adorable cottage

We had a wonderful 6 day stay in this adorable cottage. It has everything you need and is in a great location if you want to go from Trinidad to Beaches to Redwood State Parks. The owners are lovely, thoughtful and welcoming. We had a great stay!

We had the best stay EVER! The owners went above and beyond in every way! The place was pristine and had every amenity and then some! They thought of everything! The beds and bedding were super comfy, the bread that was waiting for us was so appreciated! Super great experience!

Perfect to see the beaches and redwoods

This was a great place for the price and what we were looking to do… be outdoors, hike, and explore the beeches. It was nice to come back to this clean cottage and comfortable beds. Not a lot of amenities in town and the grocery store does not have much ( I bought eggs and they were bad) We went to Trinidad for groceries instead but the local Pizza was great.

We were amazed of how clean and well kept the place was. They were very thoughtful in leaving delicious fresh home made bread, butter, water bottles, coffee, and tea. The towels were high quality.

Clean and Cozy

If you're going to the redwoods the site is perfectly located. The cabin was extremly clean. Everything you need away from home. Comfy beds, which was a pleasant surprise.

Gorgeous

This is an amazing place, literally 2 min to the Redwoods and 2 minutes to the beach. The house was cute and the neighborhood was quiet. The walking path along the river was nice and had beautiful wild flowers growing along both sides. We ordered a pizza from the local pizza place that was really good. We will definitely come back

Cozy and homelike rental

We absolutely LOVED our stay here. The owners have put together a beautiful property for couples and families who are visiting the redwoods. The beds were like a dream. The cottage is so cutely appointed! The owners have thought of many lovely touches to make it functional and to make it feel like home. I would DEFINITELY seek it again if back in this area and I encourage anyone looking at it to hit Book Now! Its worth every penny of the rental price. Location to park, fantastic!

The little house served our needs well and was centrally located between the areas that we traveled to during our stay. The owners (the Scott's) provided basic necessities (e.g., toiletries, coffee, laundry liquids) and even baked a loaf of bread for us, which was a nice touch. The house has two bedrooms, but it's quite small; it is great for two people but would probably be a little cramped for any more than that. The house is on the owners' property close to their home, but they were respectful and gave us our space. We met Ed, who was friendly, and Brisco, their dog (a sweet fella who loves to play catch with his tennis ball). I recommend the house for your stay in the Redwoods (be prepared to see Elk grazing near the home!)

Ultimate Redwoods cottage

Stayed for 3 full days with my wife for our 10 year anniversary, and still felt like there was so much more we could have done in the area! Situated perfectly outside of the Redwood national forest, and also lots of beach and coast to take in. If you love the great outdoors like we do, I can't recommend this cottage enough. Cozy, charming, clean, well maintained, with an excellent welcoming committee; a couple of friendly dogs! One of them likes to bark at visitors, but only out of excitement for the opportunity of people paying attention to him! They are super friendly and well behaved 3 The homemade bread provided is simply divine! The only minor improvement I could suggest to the hosts would be to include a couple ice cube trays in the freezer. 10/10 stay and one of the best trips of our lives

Cozy Cottage

Really a great location for exploring the Redwoods with many great hikes and beaches very close. Home was comfortable with two quality beds, fantastic shower, and a kitchen with everything we needed. Owners clearly making an effort to make the home welcoming including super soft towels, nice bedding, and homemade bread. A small market and mojo pizza is within walking distance, the visitor center and beach is just a few minutes drive where we watched the sunset. Otherwise, there isn't much more in town. We did have to drive to another town for more food/restaurant options. There should be more homes available like this in Orick as it is such a nice way to visit Redwood National and State Parks and an excellent jumping off point for many popular hikes.

The location is perfect for visiting the Redwoods and the coastal area. The cottage it's self was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with pot, dishes, utensils and the like. It even had a good selection of condiments. A small grocery is near by. The store has a good selection of everything you might need just not a lot of depth in selection. By this i mean the store carries catsup... but just a couple of brands, vs my hometown grocery that carries perhaps 6 or 7 brands. We found the store to be perfectly adequate for our needs and really convenient. Our host was wonderful and helpful. Orick is surrounded by great Redwoods and lovely coasts. This was an excellent choice for us!

Our new fav place to stay when chilling in the redwoods. Cottage was comfortable, very clean, well equipped, decorated cutely, quiet - I could go on and on but you get the idea. Although we did not meet the hosts, they think of everything including homemade bread. Although it is right off 101, we did not think it was loud. Thank you- we will return.
