Enjoyed our family weekend at your wonderful lake house. My 90 year old dad enjoyed reminiscing about False River as he had a camp there many years ago. The pier was great for relaxing and the house was very comfortable.

Great rental on the water!

This house was perfect for our family and dog! It is extremely well kept especially for allowing pets. The game room was a huge hit with the kids. The covered dock was great for fishing or for just sitting on the swing. The house is in a great location as well. New roads stores and restaurants are just 10 to 15 minutes up the road. Baton Rouge and other activities we wanted to do were 30 to 45 minutes. We have stayed on a few other rentals at false river and this one has been the best so far!

This was the best house we’ve ever rented on the river. The owner is super accommodating no complaints whatsoever, but stay here again.

Enjoyable stay

Hook, Wine and Sinker had everything we needed for two couples and two pups! We enjoyed the neighborhood and the False River. Home was stocked with everything you need and cute decor. Convienient to gas station and some local restaurants as well We would definitely come back to spend more time on the water!

Great lakefront home

We really enjoyed staying here. Visiting our LSU students, and wanted to give them some off campus time for fun. Beautiful home, great views and convenient location to go back to Baton Rouge, or over to New Roads for some good food! Had everything we needed! Game room gave the teens another activity too.

4th of July Fun

Beautiful location and home. Great water area aside from the rolling waves from other boaters. Close to the bands at night and food vendors. Game room was a plus for the college kids. An exterminator could have improved it.

Quick getaway

We did a last minute getaway for my son’s birthday to take him fishing on the river. We had no luck with catching anything but we still enjoyed our stay. The kids enjoyed the game room and even sitting out by the dock with there rails hoping to catch a bite. The house was just as pictured and very cozy. It was stocked with everything. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.

The rental home itself was great. Very clean, well equipment, and comfortable. Great view from the balcony. The dock offered a serene spot to enjoy the river. But - that driveway. Yikes! Steep is hardly the word to describe it. Drop-off is closer. If something could be done about that driveway, the rental would be an overall 10. We enjoyed our stay very much but unfortunately the driveway was very disconcerting to us and our guests.

We loved the property. The house inside was better than described. Beds were super comfortable. Towels were plush. Lots of convenient items in the kitchen including appliances, nice dishes, glass wear and eating utensils. Plus condiments and spices in the cabinets along with coffee, tea, creamer and sweeteners. The porch and dock could use a brief occasional clean-up but it didn’t stop us from using and enjoying them. The game room was a big plus and it’s nice to have it located away from the main house. We will definitely recommend the property and come back when we need some relaxing time away from home.

Camping & Fishing

This camp/house was by far the best we’ve ever renting, it was well kept, clean, had everything we needed both inside and out, including a huge covered pier that we fished from, a game room, a great quiet, safe location and a great plus was that it’s also pet friendly. Host is super nice, we will definitely rent this location again soon. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, YOU WON.’T BE DISAPPOINTED!! A

Excellent Stay

This place doesn’t look like a lot from the road. It’s wonderful inside. The beds are the most comfortable beds ever. We enjoyed the outdoor grill and played games in the living room. Very nice place overall.

Boat dock poses a problem considering that the slide interferes with mooring a boat!The hall bathroom had mold and no one wanted to use the shower.Cleaning crew needs to notify host of issues like shower curtains, broken mugs, dirty windows,etcHost responded in a timely manner.

Thanksgiving Stay

This was a great spot and exceeded expectations. The game room was well stocked with nice cues and a great TV set up. Can't overstate how pleased we were with the overall vibe. Only complaint is the check in and out times. 10am makes it hard to fully enjoy the last night of the stay without having to start packing for an early departure.

Had a great time in a clean comfortable home.

We rented to attend an engagement party. We had adult children and grandchildren staying with us. The home was spacious and clean. The furniture was up to date and the beds were firm but comfortable. We loved the dock and BBQ grill. We had a great time.

Holiday Fun

Louisiana natives, our group returned to our home state to meet up for the holidays. This property represented all our LA favorites: clean and comfortable, a beautiful natural setting, and easy access to good food and fun. We enjoyed the peaceful water view and felt like we had plenty of room to spread out. The game room was an added bonus for our kids and teens. The kitchen was well stocked and had plenty of room to cook as well as enjoy the leftovers of all the restaurants we miss from our new home states! We would stay here again!

We frequent the river often and have stayed at numerous other places on the water. This one is added to our favs list! Just to point out a few pluses ... Convenient location, comfortable and clean accommodations, very well stocked in the kitchen and plenty of linens for the bathrooms and even the outdoor grill was working, clean and in great condition. We will def revisit this one!

Beautiful Lake House

We brought our family of 6, plus the dog, to this beautiful and comfortable lake house. The owner was very responsive to any concerns. We greatly enjoyed time spent out on the dock. Its the perfect place to watch the sunrise over the water and the fishing was good.The only negative thing I would have to say about this property would be the driveway. It is pretty darn steep, with a less than stellar patch job at the entrance. If you drive a truck or suv, you shouldnt have a problem. But driving a car that sits low to the ground created some tense moments for us. Its just something to be aware of.
