Welcome to your cozy mountain retreat in Mendon, Vermont! This recently renovated 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom home offers the perfect blend of modern comfort and rustic charm, making it an ideal getaway for up to six guests. Situated conveniently close to Pico Ski Resort, Killington Ski Resort, and the town of Rutland, you'll have easy access to all the best that this region has to offer.

Book with us and save on ski and snowboard rentals through our local partners. Guests also have access to a limited number of discounted Killington lift tickets.

The master bedroom features a queen bed with an ensuite bathroom, ensuring privacy and convenience. The second bedroom is spacious, offering two double beds, perfect for families or friends traveling together. An additional bathroom and a laundry room add to the convenience of your stay.

Unwind in the inviting living room, where a smart TV awaits for your entertainment needs. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area make it easy to prepare and enjoy meals together. High-speed WiFi ensures you stay connected, whether you're planning your next adventure or catching up on work. We're also pet friendly with a pet fee.

For your comfort, the home is equipped with mini splits for both heating and air conditioning, so you can relax no matter the season. Step outside to enjoy the fresh mountain air on the front or back deck, complete with a fire pit and BBQ grill for outdoor cooking.

This home has been thoughtfully updated with all new furnishings, providing a fresh, modern feel while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're here for the skiing, exploring the local area, or simply relaxing, this Mendon home offers the perfect base for your Vermont escape.

House Rules:
- Please be sure that you have entered the correct number of guests as we may have a per-person per-night surcharge to cover expenses. You can contact us for a custom quote before booking.
- Our minimum rental age is 25.
- Your smart lock code will appear in your Boarding Pass two hours before check-in.
- We have some flexibility around our standard check-in and check out times depending on other bookings. Guaranteed early check-in or late check-out may be available for an additional charge.
- Our entire home is non-smoking (e-cigs included). You may only smoke on the outdoor deck. There is a $500 fine for smoking in the house.
- You must e-sign and return our written rental agreement after you complete your booking.
- For your safety and ours, we have a doorbell camera on the house pointed at the driveway which records all the time. Cameras are not in any of the living areas.
- Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 8 AM. We use Minut, smart home technology that measures volume levels throughout the property and allows us to respond to noise nuisances without disrupting your stay. Minut is 100% privacy compliant and is required on this property. If you have any questions, please ask. We are committed to your comfort so please let us know if we can do anything during your stay to make it more enjoyable.
- Fireworks are not permitted.
- Up to two dogs are allowed. A pet fee applies for each approved pet and will be added to the reservation.
- Winter weather is unpredictable. We do not offer weather-related refunds and recommend purchasing travel insurance for any unforeseen events. All wheel drive and winter tires are also recommended.
- The garage and basement are not available for guest use.

Unfortunately, the property became unavailable due to circumstances beyond control during the week before my stay, so my review is strictly about the hosts. The hosts communicated with me and were able to make alternate arrangements in a property that was better able to suit my needs with no additional charges. They were very responsive to questions before and during my stay, and followed up after my check-in to see if anything was needed to enjoy my stay. I would stay at one of their properties in the future.

The Mendon Cottage is one of the nicest places we have booked. It was well equipped, pleasant and well located. Everything was spotless when we checked in. Very comfortable. We would definitely stay again if we are ever in the area.

Dave and his crew were excellent The only concern were the moths coming in the ac windows at night because the light were on and the gap in the windows wasn’t secure.Make sure there plugged upOtherwise they were on point I give them a 10

We stayed at Outpost in Killington. The property did not have any manual or other info about the property. NO a/c in the property. Was clean, and simple rental responded ok with small delay. Be aware load offline maps and make sure you connect and login/checkin BEFORE you loose cel connection. Unit has wifi, but you have to know how to enter the unit

We're glad it felt clean and simple and that you got settled in okay. You make a great point about the setup info, and we've since put together clearer arrival and check-in details so getting into the unit is a breeze. The tip about downloading offline maps and logging in before you lose cell service is a smart one too, since that stretch of Killington can get a little spotty. Welcoming home, close to many activities but at the end of a private road. Recommend this Host and property for family getaways. Washer and dryer in unit is convenient. Clean and quiet, we attempted to re book for the following week, but was already taken. Next time.

This was a very nice place to stay as we explored Vermont for the first time. This location was central enough for day trips to Stowe, Burlington, Woodstock, Manchester and Bennington. Restaurants in Killington and Rutland were close by for dinners.

House was easy in and easy out. Super easy to get to Killington access road, or route 100 for a head up to Sugarbush. We did both.All you need in the well-appointed kitchen. Location quiet. Everything in the home spotless.I recommend this well provisioned, affordable, and well located rental.

Overall, our stay was great. The inside of the property was exceptionally clean, tidy, and equipped with good amenities.The only negative was the upkeep of the outdoor spaces. Upon arrival, we found that the exterior had not been taken care of—we actually had to clean the front porch and chairs ourselves just to use them. The back patio and table were also left uncleaned, so we didn’t bother utilizing that space at all.Considering this was a major holiday weekend like July 4th, I would expect outdoor spaces to be properly prepped and cleaned before guests arrive. If the exterior maintenance is brought up to the same high standard as the interior, this would easily be a five-star rental.

We wish there had been a recycle box. Also, mini split in living room didn’t work as well as the bedroom mini splits did for heat. Also, curtains/drapes on living room windows would be great and would help with heat loss.

Perfect for small family ski vacation

Great location close to Killington. Accurate listing. Nothing fancy but all the necessities available. Was clean and comfortable. Driveway was plowed early for easy access in/out.

This home is perfectly located. So close to Rutland and all the shops and eateries. Communication was easy and very quick. The house was squeaky clean with plenty of space. TV has every channel you can think of. Laundry is included and the laundry soap smells great! My only minor complaints were that the bed was maybe a tiny bit too soft and the neighbors are a little closer than I expected. But neither of those things would deter me from staying here again!

The house is half way between Rutland and Killington. Very clean. Quiet neighbors. In general the house is as advertised. It needs more pots for the induction stove. Plus basics like measuring cups, spoons. Insufficient number of closet hangers for 2 people much less many more renters. Livingroom furniture was comfortable. Streaming tv only, we brought our Roku along so no issue there. The heat worked well.

The place had a funky smell to it. it smelled like someone had closed the place up for a long time and it had not been aired out. I spilled water on the floor and used a cloth to clean it up. It was not a pretty sight. The 5 second rule did not apply. I had trouble with the stove top. It started and then turned off. They said no one else reported it. We were only there for a couple of days, so I did not push the issue. The property manager said no one complained about the musty smell before. My wife mentioned when we left the washer and dryer room was full of scented candles and air deodorizers, just saying. Good location, I have not lived in VT for 30 years and forgot how dark it is, missed the road a couple of times since it was so dark, that was all on me.

Thanks for the review. Fall in Vermont can get damp, especially after heavy rain, and that can sometimes cause a musty smell when a home has been closed up for a bit. We’re speaking with our cleaners to make sure the home is aired out more often and that extra attention is given to the floors between stays. The stove is an induction cooktop, and we’ve added clearer instructions for future guests since it can take a little getting used to. Glad the location worked well for your visit back to Vermont.
