The restaurant was very good, with a great view. Trying to figure out where to check in was an ordeal. It's in a tiny building on the opposite side of a dangerous road. Pulling out from the check-in side of the road, we were about to be hit by a truck because of the bushes in the way. Also, there is very little parking for the restaurant. The room was fine, but the bathroom had nowhere to put your things.

Overall, we had a very good stay here. The room was spacious, very clean, and had a beautiful ocean view. Housekeeping was prompt and responsive whenever we needed anything, and the front desk staff were all friendly and welcoming — really appreciated that. A few downsides: the on-site restaurant had limited options, opened relatively late, and the food selection was small with just average taste and value for money. There aren’t many other dining choices nearby either, so you’ll need to drive a fair distance for alternatives. As for entertainment, the facilities were quite basic — the "movie room," board games area, and indoor swimming pool felt a bit underwhelming. While we understand that most guests likely come for the beach and surrounding nature, it would be nice if the indoor amenities could be made a bit more engaging, especially since they’re already part of the offering. That said, we would still recommend this resort. It's a great stopover for anyone exploring the southern coast of Halifax — including the many scenic beaches, coastal parks, and charming small towns along the way.

Our favourite of 8 properties we’ve stayed at in the last 2 weeks. Despite having some apprehension about some recent reviews this place was amazing. Our room was right on the beach. Simple room but had fridge and microwave nice couch and super comfy bed/sheets. No elevator but worth the workout! Beautiful deck and chairs to listen to the waves crash! Staff were friendly and efficient. I had seen a few comments about the restaurant being expensive which it was a bit more expensive then what we’ve seen here in the East but food was great, stunning views, great ambiance- makes it worthwhile in my opinion - great service as well!

Can’t Wait To Visit Again!

We stayed in Villa #1 for the first time, it is the last unit in the main beachfront complex (right next to the restaurant) and as far as we could tell it is one of only two smaller/studio type villas. There was a storage room in-between us and the next villa so staff from the restaurant were routinely coming/going. We didn’t mind this as all were friendly and the interactions offered some entertainment but others may not like this. This also meant that you have no attached neighbouring room which is a positive I’d say and there were no noise issues with respect to the restaurant that we encountered, just a little less view to your left. We’ve been to Quarterdeck multiple times now and each time I say it’s a bit pricy but then we keep going back so we must thinks it’s worth it. I think a token offer for resort guests at the restaurant would perhaps make me feel like I’m winning, say 5% to 10% off your food bill if you charge the purchase to a room. The location is beautiful though, it’s a fun drive down from Halifax and the staff are great and that is what keeps us coming back. Could you spend less and go somewhere else? Definitely. But it’s a fun spot and it’s nice to have the beach, restaurant and other resort amenities all right there. Park the car and get to relaxing.

This property is amazing and would definitely recommend it for short and long stays. The restaurant on site is very good with other options near by, if you would like to go off property. The beach is amazing, especially for kids. Can't wait to return.

This property is not a resort. It is at best a motel. I stayed there for just over a week. A lot of turnover, one night stays from what i saw. For us, most importantly, this property, although marketed as dog friendly, is not. The restaurant allows dogs but the dog and the owner are relegated to these awful picnic tables on the side of the restaurant. We specifically chose this place because the restaurant and the ability to go there, sit on a patio in a real chair at a real table. As it turned out we ate there once and then ended up cooking meals at the cottage. Additionally we were told where the dog could go, all public spaces and yet our parents, who rented a beachfront, received a complaint saying the dog was not allowed in the grass and little deck in front of their property . This is not what we were told and not what the rules shared with us said. All in all i can only say that the beach was beautiful. For the price they charged per night my expectation was it would be better than it was.

We had a horrible stay because my wife broke her foot at the indoor pool. The handrail into the pool was broken, but not visibly. It swung out when she gripped it. She fell badly and banged her foot on the concrete steps into the pool. I wrote to management, told the front desk and called several days later. Each time i reached out i was told management would be in touch. That was several weeks ago and we haven't heard a word. We are not looking for anything other than an acknowledgement and an apology. I will make sure i tell everyonecwho asks Not to stay at the Quarterdeck. Their management is rude and insensitive. We will never go near the place again.
