Avoid at All Costs – Unsafe, Unhygienic, and Dishonest Booking Experience
My experience with New Nordic Suite 5 by Apartwell was nothing short of appalling and should serve as a strong warning to future travelers.
Upon arrival, I was forced to wait 45 minutes for the check-in process as no staff were present on-site. I was later told they had to travel from their external office, a completely unacceptable delay for any accommodation provider.
During this time, I observed rats running through the carpark, broken tiling around the pool, stagnant and dirty water in the swimming pool, uncovered drains, and what appeared to be an abandoned retail outlet within the complex — all of which suggest severe negligence in basic maintenance and sanitation.
When staff finally arrived, they demanded an immediate cash payment for a deposit, electricity, and water — refusing all alternative payment methods. Despite offering to settle the amount first thing the following morning, I was told that if the cash was not paid within 15 minutes — prior to their 6:00 PM office closure — I would be denied accommodation. I had no choice but to book another hotel at my own expense.
To make matters worse, the hotel charged the full amount for the original booking and has refused to issue a refund, despite multiple follow-up attempts by Hotels.com/Expedia on my behalf. This is a blatant act of bad faith and predatory customer treatment.
