I won't be staying here again.

I'll start by saying we have stayed here before and it was nice so expectations were not unreasonable. After a few minutes in our room we noticed a sewage smell in the bathroom. A common smell in PV I figured it was just the toilet water and kept the lid closed. We learned the next day that the toilet was actually leaking from the main seal onto the bathroom floor. I went to the front desk and asked for a different room and was told it can only happen at 8-9am because of their computer and they are powerless to do anything else. They did send up some used beach towels to wrap around the base of the toilet for the night and offered me a different room to sleep in that was up 4 floors with no elevator. The next morning I was sick and so my wife went to the front desk. They told her there were no other rooms and that I had most likely gotten too much sun and being sick with a stomach bug would have nothing to do with raw sewage on the floor. After much wasted effort all they could do was offer to fix the toilet but we were done and wanted a refund for our last unused day. They could not do that as I booked through Expedia so I have to spend my time working with them for that. Also the AC in the room would shut off after running for 2 minutes and then turn on 15 minutes later. This room was terrible so if you stay here check your room and don't let them give you an old one. Also the front desk is not there to help. They treat you like you will steal towels.

J'ai adoré l'hotel. Les vendeurs sur la plage cest fatiguant sur le long, et lorsqu'on promene il y a beaucoup de gens qui essaye de nous vendre de la drogue.

The room was outdated and not very clean. The location was great. Our view was amazing! Staff is very friendly. The overall grounds were nice and kept. The pool is great and there are plenty of palapas at the beach for guests to relax.

Fourth time stating here over. Over the years this property has gotten worse. The room condition and size is not consistent. The rooms are very loud as the door has a gap at the top and bottom. Old property and needs a refresh, I don’t think I’ll stay here again. Lots of other great properties in same area.

En general tiene buena atención, sin embargo la ayuda por parte de recepción no fue mucha. Cambiamos de habitación porque agregamos más y parecía que le tenía que rogar para poder reservar y en un tono un tanto malo. Hubo personas muy buenas que se tomaron el tiempo de explicarnos lo que necesitábamos ampliamente y otros simplemente no lo hacían.

No frills comfortable beachfront hotel in a fabulous location in “romantic zone” of PV great for LGBT travelers or those who want to explore local restaurants and bars. No visitors accepted. Friendly staff, good food served at the beach, nice pool. Great AC. Rooms could use some renewal / remodeling but no issues.

Disappointing Stay Despite the Great Location

The Tropicana Hotel has a fantastic location, sitting directly on the beach. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. During my stay, I stayed in 2 different rooms in 2 different buildings yet both had the same issue—a strong, sickly smell of mold. Visible signs of mold were present near the AC units, and as someone allergic to mold, I barely got any sleep. My friends, who were also staying at the hotel, experienced sinus trouble, coughing, and noticed the same unpleasant odor. While the hotel may seem like a great deal for a beachfront stay, there’s a clear reason for the lower price. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone I care about, and I certainly won’t be returning. I am also attaching a picture of the extension cord they provided me for my BiPap machine, which raises further concerns about the hotel’s upkeep and safety standards.

We enjoyed the Oceanside room and access to the pools and beach. The standard rooms are dated, no mini refrigerator or safe in the room. The bathroom reeked of mold and mildew, and there was a lot of construction happening around our room. Having to wear an armband the whole time was also annoying - it’s not like this is an all inclusive or the band acted like a key. If walking with limited ability you may have some difficulty.

Great stay!

We had a very large I oceanfront room. Small kitchen with a full size fridge stove top and microwave. With basic utensils. Room 513 was great.
