Trouble In Paradise

Firstly, we are regular travelers, holiday, vaca, short jumps, anniversary, and have always been Extremely Pleased, everytime we have booked with any of the "Booking Platforms"....BUT..recently had the absolute worst, July 4th vaca, booked at ""Palette Resort " south Myrtle Beach. To its credit, ,ONE , very nice female , front desk. This is NOT a resort! Its a disaster, no staff, housekeeping is atrocious. Elevators are sickening smelly and dirty. Bring comforter and blankets, we had one sheet on the bed, asked for a blanket, front desk didnt have any, had to wait til morning, it took me two days to collect enough bedding to stay comfortable. The pools, ouch, the pool areas have garbage all over, underwear and clothing about, site looks like an old abandoned resort that was probably busy, somewhere it got the basic look painted and washed and rebooted as a resort. There are 3 spots to park for check-in, they will not let you check in early, dont even ask or try to pay. You will be blocked in for hour or more trying to check-in. It was a disaster! Ive stayed at some very old, deal, type places, but this place is NOT GOOD! It is an integral part and attracts the bad changes of what South Myrtle Beach has become, unfortunately. Is it chep? yes! But, its not enough to feel safe, comfortable, at ease. We left two days early, didnt care about losing our money even! FOLKS, TRUST ME, PLEASE, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! there is better out there!! We made a bad choice!!!

Not great

The place needs some repairs, cleaning and a coat of paint. Nice location, but I tried my best to spend as much time as possible outside the room. Graffiti in our bathroom and stains on our bed.

Overall good time! Housekeepers can do better with cleaning floors, they were sticky feeling! Beds we're pretty comfy, one just squeaked terribly every little move made!

Last minute stay

It was ok. It was a last minute find. The sign on the street was small and hard to see, we almost missed our turn in. The parking is a small area at check in, so we went down hill into the garage which we found out is only for handicap parking. We went to the elevator to discover there is no button to press to enter. So we had to walk up the hill. We found out this is to detour outside people from entering the hotel. The older white guy was so nice to us. We didn't have towels or dishes but he went out of his way to get what we needed. We took pictures of the room so we had proof we didn't damage the room before we used it & we discussed it and they were understanding about it. The staff couldn't help it the hotel was dated. I saw a young black guy working his tail off to clean rooms. The main reason you have to ask for everything thing is because previous guests were thieves and stole a lot. But the room was clean and you have direct access to the beach. There was a lazy river but no floaties because those were stolen too. And guess we're taking their chairs from the patio to the beach when they had signs up to say not to do that, like folding chairs are $9 at the dollar tree across the road. Anyway, the air worked good. It's ok if you need somewhere to sleep.

Although ratings aren’t too good.Front office staff was nice. Lobby could be cleaner & also could the pool area & elevators. Hotel does need a few renovations. We had east access to the beach. My friends and I stay was great. Our hotel room was clean. We enjoyed our stay there for the 3 nights we book. Especially it being 4th of July weekend ! The area around was calm & beach was crowded but not overly crowded like other places were

For starters I asked for towels and wash cloths twice and never received them, I had to go buy my own, I asked for a trash can for the bathroom and never got one, when I opened my room door all I see is a a big trash can with a overflow of trash all over the place, the parking area leading to the pool was full of trash, the elevator to back to the room had no button and using the room key never worked, it was also nasty in that area, there is a loose plank leading down to the beach that I almost tripped over, the pool handle leading into the pool was also loose, on the room balcony there is space between the rail and the wall, the kitchen had no pots or pans, no utensils I don’t know they even have a kitchen, the baking sheet had been used and put back in the oven, in the commons area there was the housekeepers cart where everyone could see them, having to park on the other side of the street is a huge inconvenience especially when carrying groceries. We left a day early and will never return, the hotel needs to be shut down until it can be remodeled. The ladies who work the front desk were polite and attentive but they never checked to make sure we got the towels and wash cloths I requested

Property seemed pretty warn and could use many updates. Our refrigerator did not work, the freezer however kept things cool, but not frozen. TV did not work, something wrong with satelite signal. 2 of 3 lamps did not work. Could take elevator down to pool level, but button from pool level was broken to go back up. Along with many cosmetic repairs that are needed. Also the "comforter" on the bed was as thin as a sheet. Staff was friendly though.

Didn’t have a chance to stay because they called me at 5:15pm, while on the way with my husband, mom, 4 and 1 year old, to tell me that they sold my room and were booked for the weekend so we don’t have anywhere to stay with them. I booked MONTHS in advance. Reserve now pay later, I did not miss check in. They charged my card without my consent or me being present at the property and then sold my room to get a higher price for 4th of July weekend. Poor communication, shady business practices, and no apology given at all. They were less than helpful and pretty much told us to “figure it out.” Terrible experience and will never try to stay with them again.
