Beach home vacation

The apartment has an amazing view of the sea; we love to be close to the sea, and it was just perfect for us. Also, the apartment is roomy and excellent taste decorated. The place made us feel at home away from our home. Thank you.

Nice little spot on the beach

The unit was very nice and comfortable, we only stayed 1 night in order to get into town early for our extended vacation. There was some construction going on but it did not affect our stay. There are 2 restaurants close to the unit and an awesome bonus was that one of the two pools is directly across the street on the beach.

Condo was great and we were very pleased with how easy things were. Unfortunately, there was very little hot water available for bathing for some reason. Aside from that, we were very pleased and would definitely go back.

Great view of the beach from balcony, room is clean, quiet, have everything we need to be comfortable for our family of four. However, the trip didn’t start well when we ran into a gate and being blocked from entering the property for about 20 minutes. Should have provided instructions how to avoid gate of nearby properties. Living room carpet is too worn may consider to replace. Master bedroom window needs better shade to block morning sunlight. Overall we enjoy the stay.

Communication about parking is lacking. Two passes are located in the apartment. Easy entrance other than that. Apartment LOOKED ok. Building is well kept, apartment is well furnished and basic. No beach towels available in the unit and we didn’t bring them. The biggest issue is cleanliness: there was a dirty washcloth hanging in the shower, actual feces on the toilet, and we watched a cockroach run down the kitchen counter. So we wouldn’t cook and EVERYTHING went into the fridge. We ate a bit concerned about our return with the cockroach situation. We will be leaving the luggage in the garage a bit when we return. And I have to laugh. It says you can post pics here.. but you can’t. I have some..

Great condo

Easy check-in and check out. The condo was very clean and spacious with a well stocked kitchen and great balcony view. The condo had private access to the beach and a beach swimming pool along with a swimming pool in the parking area.

Bait and Switch

When we arrived in Destin, we found that Resort Quest (they manage the property) had bumped us from Leeward key to another cheaper, smaller property. Even though we paid in full, in advance and had a written confirmation from Hotels.com, Resort Quest said they didn't guarantee Hotels.com reservations. That is not disclosed anywhere. They rented it out from under us to someone paying a higher price. We were moved to Crystal Sands (think highway motel), a smaller, older property and smaller room that should have rented for half the price of the other. It was supposed to be two bedrooms but it was one bedroom and an open loft with two twin beds. The pool was by the road and very small with nowhere to sit. This ruined my trip and all I got from Resort Quest was a "sorry". Hotels.com promises in their adds that a help desk will fix anything. They can't even though I have been a silver or gold member for over 10 years. I won't make this mistake again.

Perfect place to stay!

Beautiful condo, modern and comfortable. Near most restaurants and stores. Right across the street from the beach. We stayed near the top floor and the view was amazing! Absolutely will stay here again.

Decent hotel, across the street from the beach

We were worried about the hotel being across the street from the beach and not on the beach, but don't worry its not a bad walk so don't let it be a deal breaker. Room was a little dirty with marks and such on the walls. After we checked out we decided to stay a couple of more days and got a room at Sun Destin and we were more pleased with the rooms they had, a lot cleaner and nicer looking but the beach access wasn't that great unless you planned on renting the chairs and umbrellas which are rather expensive. All in all we would recommend either hotel

great vacation

Condo was excellent, clean awesome view, the beach right in front of the condo. Two pools, one by the beach and the other in the rear of the condo which were great, Rental exceeded my expectations. Will be coming back next year

Awesome Views, Awesome Location, Hands-Off Service

We stayed at the Leeward Key over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The condo tower is in a great location with beautiful views overlooking the beach. It's right on a great bike/pedestrian path that takes you to the outlet mall at one end and Henderson Park at the other. The beach area includes a heated pool, pool deck, beach showers, and bathrooms. While we loved the location, property, and condo, our experience with the rental service wasn't as great. We checked in the day before Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, I wasn't informed until the day before that the office and front desk would be closed that day. We had to pick up our condo info from a lock box outside the office. Our packet didn't include the correct gate codes to the beach or fitness center and also lacked parking passes. We were only given the bare minimum in supplies as well: only one full size trash bag, one packet of dishwasher detergent, one packet of laundry detergent, one paper towel roll, and two rolls of toilet paper for each bathroom. Also, it seemed like the cleaning service forgot to mop the kitchen floor because it was quite sandy. Despite all these little complaints, the good certainly outweighs the bad at Leeward Key.
