We would like to provide a little clarification regarding the maintenance visits during your stay. During our pre-arrival inspection, our team discovered that the elevator was not leveling properly, which prompted us to notify you before your arrival. We immediately contacted our elevator vendor, whose availability is often very limited, and were fortunate to secure an appointment for the following day. Our goal was to ensure the elevator was functioning properly and available for your group to enjoy. As outlined in our rental agreement, there are circumstances when vendor access is necessary to address maintenance and safety concerns. The plumbing issue you experienced was one of those situations. When a water leak occurs, it is essential that our team assess the situation promptly to ensure the leak has stopped, prevent potential damage to the property, and restore the bathroom to full working order for our guests. We certainly understand that having vendors visit during your vacation is not ideal, and we always strive to minimize interruptions whenever possible. However, larger maintenance concerns involving elevators and water leaks require timely attention to ensure the safety, comfort, and functionality of the home. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the condition of the home and the comfort of the beds. We will be sharing your comments with the homeowners and our property management team for review. We apologize for the smoke detector issue during your stay. The batteries were replaced by maintenance, and we're sorry for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, the four-car parking limit is set by the Town of Hilton Head Island and applies to all rental properties based on driveway and garage space. Regarding the beach gear, while previous guests sometimes leave chairs and toys behind, we don't inventory or maintain those items, so we're unable to guarantee their availability or condition.
