This is a cute cottage in the woods, and thoughtful decor reflected that vibe. The layout of the house is good and Judith is very responsive and kind. A few things we missed in the amenities description: no dishwasher and no washer (though there's a dryer). A bit dusty (could use deep cleaning under and behind the furniture as I found when our belongings dropped to those places), but overall clean in the areas we used. My kids felt very cold in their rooms, but perhaps we weren't clear on the instructions to get the heat distributed well. The cottage is near to an amazing sunset-viewing spot off the bay; the description say it's walkable, but the roads are more for driving, so we drove a minute away. And because we visited in the off-season, we were allowed to roll up a gravel path practically right up to the shore, so when it got too chilly due to the wind that day, we could see the view through our van windows. Most of the places we traveled to were actually over the bridge on the other side of Sturgeon Bay (20 min away - recommendation: Door County Sandbox for a rainy day, good food and games; ), but this felt like a retreat to the woods after going into "town." One recommended fall attraction on that side of Sturgeon Bay: The DENN! And no matter the season: Door County Gelato - loved their chocolate and sea salt caramel, especially together.
