Hi Lois, I’m so sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our home and creating a comfortable, well-appointed space for our guests, so I appreciate you sharing your feedback. Regarding the upholstery, I believe you’re referencing the blue chair in the living room. That fabric unfortunately tends to show wear easily, despite regular cleanings. You’ve helped reinforce that a more durable option is better suited for beach usage—it’s on our radar when we make an upgrade. As for the hose, it was working when we checked it at the start of the season in May, and we’ve had no other reports before or after your stay. That said, we know how essential it is to have a working rinse station at the beach and we double-checked it again and it’s in working order now. On the topic of TV access: you’re right—we don’t have a cable subscription, but we do provide two smart TVs with access to streaming apps like Netflix and Hulu. I recall your husband was looking for Fox News, which wasn’t pre-installed. Thanks for calling that out—adding a wider range of apps may help future guests. We truly value your input—as you might have noticed from other reviews, your experience was not typical of what our guests usually share. That said, your candor is appreciated, and your feedback helps us continue to improve. I do wish you had reached out during your stay so we could have addressed the concerns in real time, especially since the TV situation was the only issue raised. We want every guest to have a great experience, and we take that responsibility seriously. While we respect your opinion, a one-star review feels a bit harsh given the context, and we’re hopeful future guests will continue to find the stay reflective of the standard we strive to maintain. Thanks for the feedback Henry! We are delighted you enjoyed the home and your stay. We appreciate the suggestions. We have considered a gas grill though have concerns about managing the propane. Since the use would vary between guests, it would be difficult to monitor how and when a new tank would be needed without placing an undue burden on the unlucky guest that arrived to find a nearly empty or empty tank. Something we can consider further especially if gas is preferred over charcoal!
