We had an amazing time! The house was wonderful, plenty of space, clean and just as the list described. The ocean front is amazing and was not overly busy this time of year. Our host was so responsive and very attentive for any small details. We have stayed here several years and will most definitely be back!!!

We love the Laughing Pelican. It’s our 3rd year staying there. The upper level looks out at the ocean and has a large living area and a large well stocked kitchen. The second level has 4 bedrooms and laundry facilities, which was great for our adult children and their children. There’s also a hot tub on the second level. There is an outdoor shower and tons of beach toys. Really is a great place for a large family, and the host is very easy to communicate with!

Our family of 11 could not have loved this oceanfront house more. The main living area and kitchen are super spacious and allowed us to all be together very comfortably and without feeling like we were on top of each other. And it offers exceptional views of the beach/ocean - we saw dolphins swimming by in the morning and got the most incredible moon rises at night. The bedrooms are also very spacious (pics don't do them justice), clean, and comfortable ... everyone's favorite little touch was the runner rugs beside the beds. The kitchen is well-stocked, and the counter ice maker was an extra bonus that we really enjoyed. The location of the house is perfect, if you like a not-crowded beach with extra space between you and your neighbors while also being close to Surf City. The host was great about checking in ... just enough so it felt more personal than going through a rental company, which we prefer. It's a pet-friendly house that you would never guess allows pets - no trace or smell whatsoever. We do not have one bad thing to say about this great house, and we can't wait to go back to Laughing Pelican again soon.

As always, this house is immaculately clean, well stocked with so many thoughtful touches. The owner is very friendly and receptive - she responds very quickly to all messages. Beds are super comfy too. I can’t recommend this house enough!

This is one of the nicest beach houses we have rented. It is spacious, very clean and bright and has all of the amenities a family needs. It was perfect for kids, with gates on all of the stairs and lots of games and toys. Communication with the host was great.

This was our 4th vacation at the Laughing Pelican and we enjoyed it as much as the past 3 years! We love the proximity to not only the beach, but also to the little convenience stores, vegetable stand, pier area, etc. It has been the perfect place for our family. The large living area/kitchen is perfect for cooking big dinners and playing games after a full day on the beach. The upgraded flooring and carpet were nice surprises when we walked in. Jacalyn is always very responsive and helpful throughout our stay!

The Laughing Pelican is a wonderful getaway! The home is beautifully situated right on the beach, offering stunning views and a prime location. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need, making it easy to enjoy meals at home.We especially appreciated the many thoughtful amenities provided—beach chairs, umbrellas, and equipment that made our time on the sand even more enjoyable. The spacious decks and the screened-in porch were perfect spots to relax and take in the ocean breeze.Communication with the owner was excellent—they were quick to respond to texts and very helpful throughout our stay.The location couldn’t be better: close to a dog-friendly restaurant and just a short drive to town for shopping and dining. Truly a perfect beach retreat!

This is the second time we have stayed at the Laughing Pelican, and my family truly loves this home! It is the absolute perfect location, has all of the amenities that fit our family, and I truly appreciate all of the little touches that make our stay special every time (ex: labeling on the light switches, the welcome 'goodie' bag of essentials, Roku TVs in each room, and the hot tub!). This is a great house and a fabulous location. Our entire family - 3 children and their spouses, 6 grandchildren and 2 dogs- thoroughly enjoyed our vacation here. The kitchen is truly amazing, and very well equipped. The house was spotless and very spacious. We enjoyed the decks in the evening but were most happy with the quick and very short walk to the beach- just steps away- which allowed our grandchildren to go in and out often. The outside shower was better than expected and was really helpful. We will keep this on the top of our list for places to return to- and hope we can visit again soon. You won't be disappointed with the house. Importantly, the communication with the host was easy as Jacalyn was very responsive. Loved this vacation!

Another year, another great stay at Laughing Pelican

Me and my family have stayed at this property several summers. Love the location, the views, etc. The house is well maintained and well stocked. Additionally, the owner, Jacalyn, is very responsive to any questions or concerns.

We had a great stay at the Laughing Pelican and would recommend it for your stay at Topsail Beach. The place was fully outfitted to meet all of our needs -- from a kitchen complete with every utensil and appliance, to a family room with plenty of games to entertain your family, plus a large TV. The owner was very responsive and helpful during our stay. Highly recommend.

Family Beach Vacation

This is our second year staying at the Laughing Pelican. The property is great for a large family, and being on the ocean is ideal. Check in and check out is easy, and the owner is very responsive to texts. We loved staying there and hope to continue making it an annual event!

Great vacation stay!

We had an amazing family trip at your beautiful beach house. It was a rare opportunity to get together with family to honor the life of “Granny”! She was the corner stone of the family. The house was the perfect size and well equipped. It had amazing views and we enjoyed spending time in the Hot Tub with the ocean sounds in the background! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home! Always Perfect

This is the perfect house, so comfy and spacious - right on the beach. The owners are responsive and kind, always ready to answer questions and offer assistance. The kitchen is the most well stocked of any house I’ve ever rented. There are so many extra thoughtful touches throughout the house that makes it feel like home. Already booked for next year, our family and friends love this house!!

Another Wonderful Stay at Laughing Pelican

This was our family's fourth time storing at the property and our third year in a row. The house is well stocked with almost anything you would need, is very clean and updated, safe, etc. The location is amazing: actual beachfront with amazing views, really close to many restaurants/bars, and on its own little road with just a handful of other houses (off the main one with all the "fast" moving traffic). Additionally, Jacalyn is a wonderful host and communicates frequently and timely.

Topsail Gem

This is the second year we’ve stayed at the Laughing Pelican and it just fits our family perfectly! We have 8 adults and 4 kids. The house has an awesome living space which is connected to the kitchen. It’s a wide open space with plenty of room for everyone! The one upstairs bedroom is perfect for grandma and grandpa, and all other bedrooms are right down the stairs. The bunk room is a hit with our kids, and all other bedrooms are super comfortable (mounted TVs in each room). The location is perfect, just a short walk down the stairs to the beach (love the newly built walkway). The convenience store right down the street is so great, and just a short drive to our favorite ice cream shop, Island Delights:) Jacalyn is always super responsive and helpful! 10/10! My favorite part of this house is that it’s not massive with tons of stairs-it is manageable with kids and older people but still has enough space for us all.

Great house… perfect location

The house is clean and well-kept. The kitchen has everything you’ll need. The rooms are spacious and furnished nicely. And we got to witness a spectacular loggerhead turtle hatching; 129 turtles started their journey to the Gulf Stream from a nest right next to the property.
