We love this house, we are repeat visitors. Host was welcoming, reached out the first evening to make sure we found everything satisfactory and gave additional helpful information. We loved using the kayaks, paddle boards, and the pontoon boat on the gorgeous quiet lake. The water was perfect, clean and refreshing. The new for us outdoor space was so cozy to sit by a blazing fire and watch a movie with the grandkids during a rain shower, that was a highlight of the kids. Beds and pillows were very clean and comfortable, lots of towels and the most equipped kitchen I have ever seen, with a cabinet full of spices etc for our use. There was even a ziplock bag full of rice dedicated for phone use in event of it falling into the lake! Amazing stay, looking forward to our next visit already.

The home was clean and very cozy. It was perfect for our family of 8. The kitchen was very well stocked with all of the pots, pans, dishes, flatware and glasses needed. The view of the lake was beautiful and we enjoyed it by sitting on the roomy decks in the rocking chairs. We thought that we would use the spacious outdoor fireplace area but guess that it just did not get cool enough to light a fire. It was a nice place to stop and rest when coming up the stairs from the lake. The stairs were perfect with handrails on both sides and not too steep. We enjoyed the use of the pontoon boat and the sitting area down by the dock was a perfect way to relax and watch the action on the lake. The only thing that I would ask for is some grab bars in the showers. Our host, Diane, was very helpful and answered all of our questions. All communications were very clear and concise. When we come back to this area we will certainly hope that this home is available for our use.

We had an absolutely wonderful vacation, the property and lake view was breathtaking! The host was fantastic with communication with any questions or needs we had arise! The property was well maintained and the kitchen was very well stocked with essentials! Even our teen said “this is our best vacation we have taken” and we all know from a teen that is a fantastic review! We are definitely keeping this property in mind to vacation again!

Hello and thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I have to be honest...I am rather disappointed to see a 4-Star Review with no explanation or comments..? I have been doing this since 2018 and this is my FIRST review in 8 years with less than 5-Stars. Can you please explain? We provided flexibility with check-in and check-out and I believe we were accommodating in almost every respect. I personally called after your arrival to ensure that everything was in order and was told that everything was perfect. It's hard to comment/reply on specifics since there were no comments or details in the review. We strive for 5-Star reviews 100% of the time and am sorry that we did not fully meet your expectations.

The property is amazing. We have never stayed somewhere that felt more like home than this cabin. You can tell someone really cares about this place and loves it as much as we did.

Host was very nice and communicative. There was sooooo much to enjoy on the property. I have to say, it’s the most well stocked rental Ive been in. I couldnt imagine needing to bring anything extra to stay entertained. The kitchen was beyond full of supplies. The area is quite beautiful

Wonderful home. Cozy outdoor living room with fireplace was great for after dinner movies. The boat house was fully stocked with everything you need for fun in the lake. The house had all the touches that make it feel like a home.

Wonderful. Although a pontoon boat is available, it is only 35 horsepower, which is very slow. As a family, we love tubing, and 35 horsepower is much too slow. We rent a pontoon from Lake's End that is 150 HP for tubing. That being said, the boat for the house that is parked at the house dock is an impediment. That means there is a boat docked on either side of the house dock, limiting the area for guests to swim. We bring a Lilly pad for the children, and the the house-owned boat limits their area to swim, play and fish. The dryer timer does not work. Would like some games such as shuffleboard and air hockey for families. Not criticisms, just suggestions. A Lilly pad would be nice.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, Paula and I appreciate your comments and suggestions. Service has been called on the dryer so that should be repaired within the next week. Although I don't believe that hindered the effectiveness of the appliance I do understand it was an inconvenience. I appreciate your understanding in that regard. We have contemplated games such as shuffleboard or cornhole but living in the mountains doesn't provide us with many flat surfaces to have such recreational games, unfortunately. And with our pool table in the lower level, I am not sure where we could install an air hockey table? But certainly will keep these in mind in the future if we ever rearrange or add on to the lower level. We are truly grateful for your repeat stay as that is the best compliment a property owner can receive! Housekeeping was also very appreciative and said you were excellent guests so thanks for taking such good care of our home during your stay. Great house for a group!

From check in to the last day our trip was amazing. Great house for two families with plenty of space. We loved the outdoor area with lounging area and fireplace!

Perfect house on the lake

This is the first time we have ever stayed at a property twice. The lake is absolutely beautiful, so quiet. Diane has thought of every detail and the house has everything you need and more. Cannot wait to come back.

This house has it all! One of the most spectacular lake views, clean and spacious, and very well stocked. Pristine lake water and every lake accessory to have fun on the lake which includes paddle boards, canoes, pontoon boat and fishing poles. Will definitely come back. Diane was very helpful and made my stay so much easier.

Great place for a family vacation

This is my second time staying here and it did not disappoint! My family (my husband and our three kids ages 10,8,6, my sister and her 11 year old) and I absolutely love it here and never want to leave lol. Diane is an amazing host, so easy to communicate with and always prompt with responding to any questions. Her property has one of the best views of lake Nantahala, providing a wide view which is vast and gorgeous, even in the dead of winter! We came for Christmas and it was lovely, had good weather and on the warmest day (60 degrees) our kids went kayaking over to the little peninsula and hiked and had a great time. All the beds were super comfortable, kitchen well stocked with the essentials. Plenty of space for us with plenty more room to have another family there too. There is a bottom floor with a kitchenette, tv room and bedroom that was awesome for the kids to hang out, play games and watch movies.Both indoor and outdoor spaces were great. I loved the peace and tranquility the quiet nature brought us here. No light pollution or traffic heard here which is I think amazing. I am definitely planning on coming here again!

Highly recommend staying here!!

I booked this place for my wedding party and myself to stay at. This home is beautiful. The outdoor area with the fireplace was our favorite part! We had such a great time staying here. Also, the host was the most thoughtful and great host I’ve ever encountered. She left us a very sweet wedding gift. I can’t recommend this place enough. We would definitely stay here again!

Idyllic vacation home

Garrett's Gathering 2024

Diane's Lake House provided everything you could dream of for a mountain lake get away! The home is spacious, well stocked and comfortable. Easy access to the dock and watercraft were a highlight of the trip. The exceptional outdoor fire-pit provided a cozy atmosphere for gathering and playing games. Diane was so attentive to our needs during our stay and went out of her way to make sure our visit was a pleasurable experience. Perfect home for a large family or one that wants to spread out.

Our stay was better than expected. Our host, Diane, was helpful and responsive from point of reservation, to our stay, to sadly leaving this beautiful home. This was one of the cleanest homes that we have stayed in at Lake Nantahala. Diane has this property on expert quality level. Peaceful

Great property on the lake. Wonderful views and outdoor space to hang out day and night and any season. It would be fun in the colder months as well with outdoor fireplace and heaters. Very well appointed living spaces and well stocked kitchen. Easy and helpful communication with the owner Diane who was great. We will be back! was great. We will be back!

Perfect, family vacation

This was our second time staying here and it again was perfect in every way. Diane’s home is super clean , and is fully stocked with anything you may need . The view of the lake is amazing and my family enjoyed skiing all Week. The house is also well equipped with life vests and water toys. This was our 5th summer on lake Nantahala and this is our favorite house !!

Best house on the lake!

This house is PERFECTION in every way!! I honestly can’t say enough wonderful things about it! It’s gorgeous in the photos and even better in person! We have stayed on the lake before this house is by far the best we have stayed at! If you have been to the lake you know that some houses have super steep drive ways and also many many steps down to the dock. The driveway to this house is basically flat and super easy and convenient. There are wooden steps to the dock that make for an easy an easy and accessible path, and also not so many steps like some of the other houses. The house has lake views from every floor. The dock is spacious and so beautiful. Theres is an amazing stone deck down by the dock to sit and watch the lake and relax. It’s gorgeous and so comfortable! The outdoor sitting area with the fire place is amazing! We sat and played games and roasted s’mores! This house even has a full storage room full of every lake toy you can think of for the guests yes! We were a family of 10 and everyone slept very comfortably l! All the beds were great! Diane is absolutely the best host! She was extremely detailed with every instruction. The house is beyond organized and everything is labeled so you know where to find everything. She was so kind and available for anything we needed! I can’t say enough about our time at the lake! We will definitely be back to this house!
