This unit was perfect for us. Loved the location. Loved the beach. Loved walking the trail and seeing the vendors. Loved walking to Duke's for lunch/dinner. I had to 'manage' the washer and dryer, not my favorite bur at least they had one. Everything in the complex was well cared for. The grills, the pool, the hot tub. I would stay here again.

The location is premiere! Within walking distance for reasonable groceries and restaurants. Parking lot is big - lots of spaces. The property is so close to all resorts yet felt very private. Morning runs and walks on the boardwalk were convenient and beautiful. Great kitchen - we cooked in a lot. Window-balcony-the view!! The elevator was fast. It was amazing to walk right off the lawn to the beach. Hoping to return…soon!

The view was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed whales every day. Most of the furniture is long on the tooth. Property management had to send out a person to clean the blood and dirt off the arms of the chairs. The floors weren't very clean, so they sent someone to mop. The toilet bowl brush sat directly on the floor next to the toilet. Not sanitary. I asked for someone to remove a two-foot streak of bird poop on the picture window and no one was able to do that. We were told a window cleaning was scheduled March 8th, but that did not happen. The bedroom sliding doors were streaky. One of the living room blinds would not rise to the top. I asked someone to take care of that, but no one did. I had to ask for more silverware. There was barely enough for 2 people. We paid 300.00 for an extension on our checkout but had to call at least three times because new codes they provided didn't work. We therefore wouldn't have access to get back into the room if we had gone to lunch or to the pool. So we stayed in the room all day. If it were updated and cleaner, it would be perfection. Fabulous view. Quiet pool. Duke's Restaurant is a ten-minute walk. Very good food and location. We would stay at Mahana again but in a different unit. We liked the corner room. More windows. Lanai was very private. I believe before guests arrive, the above-mentioned issues should be taken care of, not afterward.

This condo is very old and in need of significant updating and upkeep. The furniture, fixtures, and overall condition are dated, and there are visible maintenance issues.The most serious issue occurred on our third day. After returning from the beach, we opened the door and were immediately hit with an extremely strong medicinal/alcohol-like smell throughout the condo. The odor was overwhelming and clearly coming from the air-conditioning unit. We felt dizzy and unwell and had to open all windows and doors to ventilate the space.We contacted all listed property contacts due to the seriousness of the issue, especially since we were with our children. We were told someone would inspect the unit, so we left the condo for several hours. After more than 4 hours with no update, we followed up and were told someone had already been there and that “nothing was wrong” and no smell was detected, despite the odor being unmistakable.Customer service later told us there were no alternate accommodations and suggested we stay elsewhere and seek reimbursement later. We were promised follow-up the next day, which never happened. Out of concern for our health, we did not use the air conditioner for the remainder of our stay and kept the windows open instead. There was clearly something wrong with the unit despite management denying it.The only positive is the waterfront location and view, though the ocean directly in front is rocky and not suitable for swimming.We will not be returning

Our maintenance partners inspected the condo shortly after your message and confirmed that the air conditioning system showed no leaks, no chemical sources, and no alcohol-like odor since the system runs only on chilled water. When they arrived, the sliding doors were open, which can cause significant condensation when the AC is running in Maui’s warm oceanfront environment and can heighten natural humidity or amplify scent perceptions after returning from the beach. Although no unusual smell was detected during inspection, we recognize that sensitivity to different scents varies and it is good to know that allowing the fresh island breeze into the unit made the remainder of your stay more comfortable. Guest services reviewed all available options at the time and continued monitoring the situation to ensure the condo remained safe for upcoming travelers looking for Maui vacation rentals near the ocean. The shoreline directly in front of the property is naturally rocky, a common feature of this part of the island, though the wide views, sunsets, and quick access to sandy swimming areas nearby continue to be highlights for many guests. What I liked:-beautiful direct views of the beach from the living interior area and the balcony-great furnishings and decoration-well stocked with kitchen cookware, serving ware, and utensils-in unit washer/dryer-clean interior-grill and pool/hot tub were great amenitiesWhat I didn’t like: -no warning that the AC was not working properly; even with the shades down the apartment was at 80 degrees; not great with a baby; the building sent notice that repairs would take place the day of our departure-only given 4 dishwasher pods for a seven night stay (it won’t kill you to just keep a box of dishwasher detergent under the sink like most short term rentals); ultimately the property manager sent more, but only after having to beg for them-balcony was covered in sand, had to sweep and wash off the balcony myself-guest room ac smells like mildew

We had an amazing time and the views were more than we had ever hoped for! Wanted to rent again, but next years dates weren’t available. Darn!

Maui July 2024

Great location beautiful views. Unit was comfortable. Dishwasher does not clean . Both bathrooms need work. Showers have mold. Toilets are so low and old. Kitchen faucet doesn’t turn off you have to play with it to stop. Master faucet has a leak.

Amazing views.

Condo was nice, especially the amazing sunset views. Kitchen was very nice. Disappointed in the bathrooms small bathrooms and very low toilets.

We take all feedback from our guests very seriously, and we wanted to let you know that we had the unit specially treated and spoke to the building to treat as well. Serious roach problem

Pros: We spent two days in Maui and rented this condo. The location is nice and the view from the condo is really pretty. Cons: Infested with roaches. I know Hawaii is full of them, but we killed 5 large ones in a matter of minutes in the kitchen our first morning, and saw countless small ones running in and out of outlets, behind pictures, baseboards, etc… the unit smelled very musty as well. Check in was terrible. We had an issue with the lock and called the number they gave to call if there was a problem, and they never answered or called back. Fortunately we were able to figure it out. There are tons of other rentals in maui at this price point, definitely rent elsewhere.

Aloha Sarah, We are disappointed anytime one of our guests leaves with less than first rate experience. Our aim is to provide a clean, comfortable and pleasant place to stay. We sincerely apologize that no one was available to assist you, this is very unlike us. I wanted to share that we have followed up with the housekeeping crew to ensure the unit is being properly cleaned and have added an additional deep clean and special treatment to ensure all pest issues are resolved. We have also spoken to the building to treat for pests as it sounds like they are coming from somewhere else. Thank you for your feedback, we will continue to use it to improve. Great views & location

A corner unit, views of the pool, pacific and neighboring islands. We saw dolphins and turtles from the patio. The apartment was clean and well appointed. I’d love to come back!

Perfect View - Great location

This was our fourth trip to the island and this was by far the best view we've ever had. Friends stayed in a similar-priced resort room at Kaanapali and they were envious of our view and the quieter pace of life at our pool. Small beachfront, but low population so not crowded. Unit was as represented a perfect space for traveling as a family with two teenagers.
