This property is beautiful. We had a great stay with our group of 9, including 3 toddlers. The ocean view is stunning and the house is very well stocked with anything you could need. There were snorkels, masks, sand toys, and more to use at the beach. Baby beach nearby was great for the kids and we drove to other nearby beaches as well. There is a center with good restaurants, shops, and a market in walking distance. There was plenty of space and storage for our things. Highly recommend!

We are so happy you enjoyed this beautiful oceanfront house. We always provide beach chairs, towels, umbrellas and coolers...but you got lucky with the other beach gear that previous guests must have left! We hope to have you stay with us again. Mahalo!

Fantastic property with first class oceanfront. Sea turtles out front are there 24/7. Very good and convenient snorkeling out front. Have always stayed in 10/10 rated houses and this was the best stocked and outfitted kitchen yet. Did not need AC during 10 days with cool breeze

This was an awesome location, we will definitely be back. The house had everything we needed for our crew of two families with small children. The snorkeling out of the backyard was amazing and you can swim or walk (2 min) to the well protected baby beach.

Great location, incredible views and we saw turtles every day. However, the property needs some TLC. The air conditioners in three (3) rooms were broken and had been temporarily replaced by freestanding units with venting thru open doors and windows that didn't work well. The living room was too hot to spend time in during the afternoons because of the broken air conditioner. Seems like the AC issue has been going on for quite some time as there was an letter (with no date) on the counter addressing the issue. How do three (3) different AC units go out at the same time? Several broken waterline tiles in the pool. The refrigerator/freezer did not work properly...froze many items in the refrigerator and the ice maker did not work. Two of the sliding doors are very difficult to open. Two wall lights flickered constantly when turned on. It feels like they don't want to spend any money to fix some of the basic items in the house.

Aloha Mike, We are happy to hear you found the locations and views to be incredible! We apologize for the inconvenience with the air conditioner situation that impacted your stay, along with the other items you reported. The AC issue started in August upstairs and then in September the two bedrooms downstairs units went out days apart. All the units were the same age but we found the issue was exacerbated by guests turning down the temperatures lower than the recommended 72 degrees. Due to the extremely high humidity/salt air in Hawaii this ultimately created the perfect storm so to speak for all them to go down within a few weeks of each other. As of 10/17 we now have all 3 unit have been replaced and in operation with no issues so far. We have also replaced the tiles in the pool since your departure. The freezer issue has been inspected and each time we find no actual issue between guests with it freezing over. We have learned this happens when many warm items are stored at one time, the doors constantly being opened with 10 guests in the home and at times the doors not being closed firmly all seem to lead to this condensation issue that causes the problem. This is why years ago now we added a secondary freezer in the garage and a mini fridge in the wet bar down stairs for items such as drinks/refreshments to help the main fridge keep cool. Regarding the sliding doors they are on are list to replace and those lights flickering were simple light bulb replacements. We again apologize for these inconveniences and in the future should you decide to return we will strive for everything to be in working order for your stay with us. Mahalo! Garden Island Rentals

The view & snorkeling off the beach was outstanding. House doesn’t have air conditioning. It has portable air conditioning & some splits on the wall of certain rooms. The main great room & kitchen were miserably hot. Downstairs family room had no air at all. House definitely needs updating. Ice maker was broken too!

Aloha, We are happy to hear that you found the views and snorkeling off the beach in front of the home to be outstanding! Regarding the air conditioning comment we want to clarify that a few of the units stopped blowing cold air within a few days of each during the prior guest stay. As a temporary solution we installed portable air conditioners in each area impacted. We have provided guidance to all guests during this time to keep the upstairs level cool that has kept the majority of our guests comfortable. These air conditioners and guidance were put in place prior to your arrival. The new air conditioning units are in the process of being shipped to the island to be installed. Regarding the ice maker, we had it inspected after your departure and it was working by the following day with no issues outside of we suspect the doors were not being closed fully and the freezer line supplying the water was temporarily impacted as a result. We apologize for these inconveniences during your stay with us and we are hoping to have the new AC systems in place here in the near future. Mahalo! Garden Island Rentals

The house was very spacious and well equipped. The location was amazing, right on the ocean, with a swimming pool, nice yard area and a large lanai. Though the location was excellent, and we loved the property, the home is starting to show it's age and could definitely use some updating. All in all it was a great home for an ocean front Hawaiian vacation.

We had a sea turtle and seal swim up to our property the first night. Parakeets slip in the coconut trees above. Well equipped kitchen was perfect for our family and go cooked several nights. So much equipment available to use in the pool room, snorkel gear, beach, chairs, etc. everything we could want! Thanks for the relaxing week!

The house is spacious and well-equipped. There are five bedrooms, 4.5 baths, and plenty of room to spread out. The grandkids spent hours in the pool every day. The view is spectacular!The small beach allowed access to the ocean, where there is a small semi-protected area for swimming and snorkeling. And every evening, two or three sea turtles arrived and spent the night on our beach!We highly recommend this beautiful house!

This home is well appointed and 2 minutes fromsooo many restaurants and shops and plenty to do nearby so close to everything and snorkeling right out front of the home ! Perfect for a large family group! Rainbows right out of the deck!

All Family Experience

This property is AMAZING. The location is terrific. The house is big and comfortable. We were a family group of 9 (age range from infant to senior citizen). We had plenty of space and great accommodations for our group. Lots of 'at home' meals and the kitchen is the BEST stocked I have ever seen. Loved hearing the ocean, seeing the honu resting, swimming in the sea, and 4 generations enjoying the pool together. Problem with the upstairs AC units was not handled well by prop mgmt firm. Ultimately everything was fixed.Gorgeous place gave us precious family memories.

Poipu work and play

This is our groups second time staying at this property and it is 10 out of 10. It’s the perfect accommodation for multiple families or a large group. Several large bedrooms each with a private bathroom. The kids enjoyed the games, the pool, and all the local beaches. The property management had great communication and made our stay worry free. Mahalo! We can’t wait to come back!

There was even a pack-n-play and spoon walker available for the babies! The pool was pristine, and the tiny beach hosts sea turtles every night! The location was perfect... a quick walk to baby beach and short drive to shopping and dining. We all agreed this might be our new family reunion location. And the communication with manager was fast!! Highly recommend.

Absolutely Incredible - Never Wanted to Leave

There was so much to do on the South side of the island, but there were times we just wanted to stay and relax at the home. Sitting on that balcony and watching the water was absolutely hypnotizing. I don't know how to describe the feeling of waking up in the morning, grabbing a coffee and just staring out at the water listening to the waves. It is paradise personified. It was a short walk into the Kuikui'ula Village shops and a cute little market (with unreal Acai Bowls) - a walk we made a few mornings and evenings. This house was everything we dreamed it would be. The staff at Garden Island Rentals was communicative and quick to respond on everything. Thank you all!
