It was a lovely property, suited our needs. We wish we had more time there to enjoy it, but our time was spent in Newport for a family wedding.. It was a little farther from Newport than I expected and Ubers were very expensive..

Traveled to the area for a wedding this past weekend. We stayed in this house with some family. It was a great old house with comfortable rooms and a beautiful huge yard. Unfortunately, there was a big nor’easter, so we couldn’t spend much time outside! It’s walking distance to the general store and a great lunch spot and a pizza place. Jenny the owner was very responsive and friendly.

Host is great! Very kind and accommodating. Place has so much character! 1860s build with some gorgeous upgrades and add-ons. Rented for a work writing retreat. Was perfect. Quiet. Gorgeous views of open fields with stone walls. Quaint town very close by. Limited but good amenities between the convenience store, pizza place “A-1”, and beer/wine/liquor store. Also a very cute coffee shop open in the morning. Excited to return this time next year!

We had a wonderful stay at Jennifer’s home in Little Compton! The property is absolutely stunning and we loved to hear of the history of the home itself. We could walk into town and the beaches were very close. The home is stocked with board games and books which my children loved. It was well maintained and exactly like the description. Thank you again and look forward to returning next summer.

This was not our first stay at this property and hopefully it won't be the last! Maybe it is growing up in old homes but the space just has such lovely, warm, welcoming energy to it. The enclosed porch and the upstairs deck continue to stun with their views, and there have been lots of thoughtful updates over the years (the kitchen is great!). Host was engaged and responsive throughout, and helped us strategize an issue that was neither party's doing (mother nature!). Hope to be back soon.

Our family had a wonderful week in Little Compton! The house was spacious, airy and clean. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen. The property is beautiful and within walking distance of the Coffee Cafe and general store The hosts were very friendly and attentive. We are hoping to return.

The listing says is AC, this was deceiving. There was no central AC. There are two window units: one in the living room and one bedroom out of 5. The entrance to the front door was dangerous with uneven stones and rocks (many tripping hazards). We also arrived at night with not a single light on. The bedrooms had a musty odor and mold on the master bedroom shower. The owner enter the house unannounced and without permission to close windows while teenagers are in the house who were scared to find a stranger on the 2nd floor. They have all our contact information and never called, this was very upsetting. The owner parked multiple cars in driveway making it difficult to maneuver cars in the driveway. The owner commented on lights been left on, windows and fans, which should not be restricted. It is summer time and hot, we didn't get a home that had the central air that we expected. Lastly, the property description didn't say that the owners live on the property.

Dear Wanda, I’m terribly sorry that your visit was not all you hoped it would be and we appreciate your comments so we can take steps to make sure our customers are satisfied. Thank you for the feedback regarding the outdoor lighting. We understand the solar lights installed at the front entrances were not bright enough for you. Additionally, we have spoken with the cleaning crew about doing a better job with the grout in the shower stall. It seems you had some trouble navigating the VRBO site. The website states that we do not have central AC and that there’s a second house on the property used by the owners. Unfortunately your visit began with four days of continuous rain and temperatures in the 60s. On the fourth day, upon noticing multiple open windows and an open door, I reached out to you through VRBO asking that when it is raining, you close the windows most of the way. After over seven hours of steady rain and no response from you, my husband entered the house to close the windows and prevent damage to our home. Before going inside, he announced himself by knocking loudly and calling out several times. For decades, we’ve taken great pride in providing the best customer service as possible for our guests. We so enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. The area is gorgeous, with a charming little down town and general store. The house has a fantastic kitchen and a sweet vintage feel to it. For folks who need or want modern mattresses, the older beds could be an issue, though they were not for us. It's a great house for a family or group gathering and we are so glad we went.

This was our third annual stay at Jenny’s home. The house is always immaculate with lots of charm and comfort. Our elementary age grand kids love the huge yard for playing soccer and whiffle ball. The setting in bucolic Little Compton is beautiful and relaxing. Thanks again, Jenny for a wonderful visit.

My friends and I have stayed each year in this charming cottage and love it. Jenny and her husband are terrific hosts and respond immediately to any issues. They put in a great deal of thought and work to create a comfortable and beautiful space for people. We will continue to come back. Little Compton is a lively and fun town and it is so close to many wonderful hiking areas. There is an Audubon refuge and numerous opportunities for beautiful walks, whether on the beaches or through the woods.

Welived the quaintness of the building with much of the original paneling and latches for the doors. The remodeled kitchen was a joy to cook in. And the views were amazing- from beautiful sunsets to hersd of deer. My personal favorite was sitting in the sun porch and a cup of tea.

This is a great home to stay in! The kitchen was excellent and had all the necessities needed to cook for a family. The rooms were neat, tidy, and clean. The living space had plenty of seating. The property and surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. The communication with the host was excellent as well.

An Enjoyable Visit in Little Compton

3 adults 2 young children stayed at the house during a heat wave. Hosts live on this stunning property, sharing a parking area in front of the guest house. A small fenced in area was great for our little dog. A weathered jungle gym has a safe slide and swings. No sprinkler. Great books & toys. Beautiful, rustic home with lots of character, outdoor & indoor porches and little steps and thresholds of varying heights. We brought our own suction bathtub mat. The kitchen is modern with everything you need. There is a large a/c unit in the living room and of the five bedrooms on the second floor, only one has a window a/c unit. All bedrooms have floor fans. Prevailing winds may keep rooms cool most of the time, but extreme heat can be a challenge. We managed to use what was there to good effect. Beds & pillows are mostly comfortable. We were confused about water since there were no instructions. A stand with a big water jug indicated that we were to use it for drinking water. The jug was nearly empty. After inquiry, I was informed that more 10-gallon jugs were behind the garage for us to fetch, carry and load. They are heavy and this was difficult, compounded by one jug with a leak and then a problem with the mounting device. We feel it would be more welcoming to have a full jug of water mounted for guests upon arrival and extra jugs right there in the guest house. Plan for check out as there are several tasks. The house and scenery make for an enjoyable & memorable visit.

Perfect Girls Getaway House

Stayed at the house with a group of my girl friends and had the most lovely time. The house is so charming and plenty of space for us all. Would definitely recommend for a friends or family getaway!

This is our second summer at the Barn in Little Compton. Love the house and the huge yard with a lovely adjacent meadow. The area is serene yet within easy walking distance to The Commons. Plenty of room for our extended family of 8. The kitchen is fully equipped with lots of dinnerware and glassware to choose from. Jenny is a wonderful, helpful host. Our trip to RI is made ever so comfortable staying here in Lityle Compton.

Beautiful property and location

My college friends and our college-aged children stayed for Memorial Day weekend. Though it was a chilly weekend, we had plenty to do walking around town, playing games and doing puzzles. The kitchen was very well equipped and clean. The WiFi modems needed to be re-plugged in when we arrived but from then on all was great. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Loved all the bird watching out the back. We also brought our dog and it worked well for that.

Very Special Property… Peaceful & Unspoiled

Located in an old, quiet and unspoiled area on the South Coast of Rhode Island. The house is charming and easily accommodated us ( 2 couples). First day, we had nasty weather so we cooked, read, played games and looked out on to the gorgeous farmland with amazing stone walls. House had everything we needed. Met one of the lovely owners who made sure we had what we needed.

Our family has lived in Little Compton since the town was settled, and we've owned our property for over one hundred years. We have a deep love of family and of Little Compton. The land surrounding our two houses is undeveloped. It is also now protected from development thanks to the town and our family! We hope you'll fall in love with Little Compton too.

Hva gjør dette overnattingsstedet unikt?

This property is close to both the town center and the beaches. It is well managed and maintained. Our family summers in the main house located on the property if any questions should arise during your stay. The house is set back from the road on a large yard. It's a clean and comfortable house and can accommodate a good sized group. Our enormous yard (2 acres) is surrounded by protected agricultural land. You are welcome to bring your dog with our prior approval. Please be aware that we charge a fee if you bring a dog to cover extra wear and tear on the house. If you want to bring more than one dog you must also get our permission first. Please email us if you have date constraints. We try our best to accommodate our tenant's needs.
