Beautiful location and grounds. The condo itself was updated and provided everything we needed. The state park just up the road is breathtaking and the hiking trail great. The near by community is rundown and there are homeless. But the property itself has excellent security. We would stay there again.

This was our first trip to Oahu, and we loved our stay at this property. I would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting the island. Very clean and quiet place with easy check in process.

Fantastic condo with an amazing view. Beautiful, quiet beaches nearby. Pool and bbq area were perfect. Would highly recommend this condo.

The area was gorgeous, the condo was clean either a well furnished kitchen. It included things like beach chairs and pool towels which was great. It was only a mile to the closest beach which was definitely not overcrowded. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

Everything was perfect! Very clean, the view was amazing! The condo had everything we needed. Our host Ken was very communicative answered all our questions and provided perfect instructions for easy check in. The people was so nice here. We will definitely be staying in the future we even enquired about possibly purchasing a unit of our own! Mahalo !!!

It was super clean most importantly. The sheets were nice. The view was incredible. The drive to the area was a bit scary and sad because of the poverty. The owner was super helpful and responsive. They provided beach chairs, umbrella, and a small cooler! You can drive to anywhere on the island in less than 1.5 hrs. My wife, teenage daughters, and myself all loved it and would stay again.

This was a great location for us as we visited friends living in the same complex. The views were amazing!The space was great for a couple and we enjoyed the pool. Ken gave us good information about entering this gated community with 24/7 security. It was quiet and peaceful, beautiful surroundings. We would stay here again if we get back here.A helpful hint if you are getting a rental car, double check to make sure the registration and safety inspection are current. We didn’t even think to check and had to swap out the car the next day. Not an issue with the unit or Ken’s instructions but a good idea to double check.

If solid sleep is important to you, beware…this place has about 40 peacocks on the property. At first we thought how beautiful they were, but they made their extremely loud shrieks all night long making it impossible to sleep. We tried earplugs & noise canceling AirPods but they could still be heard. If you have never heard a peacock’s shriek, google it. The next morning I messaged Ken the owner to ask if we could get a refund for the remainder of the stay due to the excessive noise. He told me he would not provide a refund due to things that are out of his control. I explained that these peacocks are clearly residents as there are signs posted on the property and that he should really disclose their noise levels to people who want to book here and then let them decide if they still want to stay. Ironically, the property has quiet hours from 9pm-7am which the residents are required to abide by. I asked the security guard if the peacocks always howl throughout the night and he said yes. I let Ken know that this would be reflected in my review then he said I was blackmailing him! I told him sharing my experience was most definitely not blackmail. He never once tried to help with a solution or any other suggestions on how to help with the noise. We felt stuck here without getting a refund and had a miserable nights sleep for 4 nights. We chose this location for rest & relaxation but didn’t get it. The room itself is very nice, but disappointing that we couldn’t sleep well.

Aloha Shelly, I am sorry your stay was not up to this property's usual 4.9 star rating. A quick review of past comments show that the peacock calls normally received both positive and negative subject reviews, with the majority in favor of the ritual mating call. Guests should limit the subject matter of their reviews to factors that the owner has control over. A normal sleep pattern would consume 1/3 of your stay...but your review withheld over half of the stars available. Was there other issues besides the peacock calls? Frequent sounds of the night, especially sounds of nature, are far beyond the control of the condo owners. It would also be impossible for any owner to completely divulge every sound on the property both natural and man made. Please google Coqui frog, Big Island Hawaii. I will frequently issue partial and full refunds for issues that receive complaints, both within, and beyond my control. However, your immediate demand for a complete and full refund of the entire stay, left me with little room to assess the complaint and come up with a solution. In other words your demand made it impossible to solve this complaint. Mahalo Nui Ken A.

Our stay could not have been any better. Ken was a great host and communicated really well. The condo was perfect - well stocked, super clean, and very comfortable. And the view! Sunrise over the mountains and the water every day was breathtaking. I would absolutely stay again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable Hawaii experience.

The space was clean and quiet. When all the windows were closed the birds didn't wake us up like a lot of other places we've stayed at in Hawaii. The area gets less rain then the rest of the island. The kitchen had everything we needed. There's 6 shared webber bbq's outside. They work great. The host is very responsive. My wife and I would definitely stay here again.

We come to Hawaii yearly and do a different island each year. This condo was absolutely beautiful, very convenient and very helpful staff at the office. As for the condo, it was very well stocked and by far the most comfortable bed, we’ve stayed in in any of our trips to Hawaii. There’s also some gorgeous beaches, nearby and owners of other units that reside on the property. We’re very friendly and helpful with tips of things to do in places to go.

Very nice, clean condo. My favorite part was the view—both mountains and ocean. Loved the beautiful grounds with roaming peacocks. They really do a great job keeping this place maintained. It is an oasis on the west side.

We stay at Makaha Towers whenever we are in Oahu, It is a great deal for what you get. The views never get old! The towers now however require a daily parking fee of 15 unless you stay for 30 days. So I would advise inquiring if your unit comes with “primary” parking, otherwise you pay for the privilege of hiking back and forth to your car in non-primary areas (not good). Otherwise it’s a great deal if you don’t mind driving a litttle further for your activities in the city!

Check in was fine the unit was clean and as advertised. Had a couple of issues with water and toilet. Advised owner and he responded quickly. We thought the dishes and cutlery were.a little skimpy for a unit the can sleep four.
