Marina, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Thank you for your positive feedback. We would like to clarify a few points. Immediately after we became aware of your departure. When we entered the farmhouse, the temperature inside was 70 degrees, and the thermostats were set to 70 degrees. We adjusted the setting to 68 degrees, and the farmhouse reached that temperature in less than 30 minutes. We also contacted our HVAC company and had the system inspected to verify that it was operating properly. No problems or malfunctions were found. Our HVAC company confirmed that the unit was functioning as designed and indicated it is most always operational error. Our HVAC company professionally installed our Mitsubishi mini-split heating and cooling system, which was designed and installed according to the square footage of the home. Mini-split systems are a common solution for providing heating and cooling in older homes where installing traditional central HVAC may not be practical. Regarding the bugs, Marina, thank you for your heroic killing of the bugs. Fortunately, neither before nor after your stay have we had a guest experience a similar issue. This must have been an isolated incident. We also have a professional exterminating company that services the farmhouse on a monthly basis as part of our ongoing maintenance. We would like to clarify that our farmhouse is an older historic type property. Parts of the farmhouse date back to approximately the 1880s. The home was built over time, with additional rooms and sections likely added as the original family was able to financially expand the house. It has since been remodeled, but some characteristics of an older home remain. The floors, for example, are not perfectly level in every area as they might be in a newly constructed home. We have worked to preserve the character of the property while making appropriate updates and improvements for our guests. Hi Gracie, Thank you for your kind words about our little Rhodes Family Farmhouse. We're so glad you enjoyed its unique charm and loved your stay. I was surprised to read about the issue with the air conditioning, as we had no idea there was a problem during your stay. In our check-in information, we ask guests to text us when they arrive, so we can communicate, so we can address any issues right away. Had we known, we would have sent someone out as quickly as possible to take a look. I do understand that your stay coincided with an extreme heat advisory, which certainly made the situation more uncomfortable. Regarding the trash, because the property is in a rural area with bears and very resourceful raccoons, we have to be especially careful about how garbage is handled. Our cleaning team does not provide trash removal, so arranging that service separately would increase costs that we'd have to pass along to every guest. To avoid raising our rates, we leave that choice up to each guest. As we stated in our check-in and out information we would have happily taking that for you for a slight cost.
