Our group of 15 visits the area every year, and this was our first stay at Arcadia Resort. The resort and homes are beautiful, and overall we had a great experience. Maintenance was also very responsive as they fixed an issue with our shower doors the same day.The biggest disappointment was that we were notified only two weeks before our trip that the lazy river would be closed for most of our stay due to maintenance. We had booked two homes months in advance specifically because of the resort's amenities, and with such a large group, finding another place wasn't a realistic option. There was no notice of the planned maintenance when we booked, so we would have chosen different dates or another resort if we'd known.The on-site grill was also closed for much of our stay, there was a noticeable paint/lacquer smell from the maintenance work, and one of the house grills caught fire when we used it because it appeared to need cleaning and maintenance.The manager who contacted me was great to work with and genuinely tried to help, but we were disappointed that leadership wasn't willing to offer a more meaningful discount for this huge inconvenience.Overall, we enjoyed the resort and would consider staying again. Better communication about major amenity closures before guests book would make a big difference.
