Wow! Your review made us so happy, and thank you for taking the time to write it! We so enjoy hosting visitors to Birmingham, and absolutely LOVE it when our guests appreciate all the work we put into the renovation and decorating of this historic gem in Woodlawn. We fell in love with the house for all the reasons you stated, and it gives us great pleasure to share her with wonderful Guests such as yourselves. We are so lucky to have the amazing Eva as our Guest contact, she is a Birmingham native and knows all the spots to visit. Her love of her home town shines thru for all of the folks who come to stay.

So sorry we are late in responding to your glowing review, Joshua! It went unnoticed for a bit, but we are so pleased that you took the time to write it. We’re thrilled that you appreciated the amenities in the kitchen, because while Birmingham is a fabulous food destination to visit renowned restaurants, it’s also nice to be able to stay in and enjoy friends and family at your home away from home. Our proximity to the Birmingham Airport makes our home a great place to be based while being close to Downtown and Avondale, with lovely outdoor spaces to sit and take in all the natural beauty. Thank you for the kind words for our Guest Contact, Eva, she makes all of our guests feel welcomed, and it’s her special touches that make our house feel like a home. We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and would love you have you visit again!

From the owner: "We’re glad you enjoyed your stay in our historic home, and that you appreciated the decorations and attention to detail that we put into making the house feel like a home away from home for your group!"

Thank you for the wonderful review, we enjoyed hosting y’all and would love to welcome you back! We so enjoy having guests from all over the world come to stay in our home. Thank you for taking good care or her during your stay!

Thank you, Micheal for staying with us and for writing the lovely review! We have enjoyed landscaping the yard with beautiful trees and flowers, and are especially proud to host the Gulf Coast Fritillary Butterfly in our passion fruit vines! We’re so glad you were able to enjoy the peace and quiet of the porch and our historic old home. You treated the house as if it were your own and were an ideal guest!

From the Owner: "Thank you, Jessica, for the glowing review. We enjoyed hosting your group, and would love to have you all stay with us again! Welcoming visitors to Birmingham brings us lots of joy, and when our guests enjoy the home as much as we do, that makes it even better!"

Thank you, Denise, for your stay and kind words about our historic home. We’re so glad to hear you appreciated all the old “charm” we strove to restore to the house while we were renovating it. We decorated the home with artistic touches like marble tile for the upstairs bathroom with the claw-foot tub and uncovered many layers of wallpaper, dating back to the Art Deco era of the 1910’s, and preserved that under varnish. The spacious kitchen and downstairs bathroom are more colorful and were inspired by the owners’ background in art, particularly with the mosaic-tiled bath surround. And yes, we take great pride in making the house comfortable with all the amenities you’d expect from a newer home. Y’all were great guests, and we would love to host your family again!

From the Owner: "Thank you, Rob, for staying with us and your enthusiastic review! We are so glad your family enjoyed our spacious home and were able to enjoy grilling out on the back patio. Also, thank you for the kind words you wrote about our guest contact, Eva. We are lucky to have such a conscientious and kind soul to interact with guests, and have heard from many folks who are pleased with the way she keeps the house stocked and ready for visitors. We have already passed along your praise. We truly appreciate your taking the time to send us your feedback, and we’re honored to host such wonderful guests in our labor of love."

From the owner: "Cindy, thank you for staying with us and for your wonderful review. We work so hard to make our home and garden, and relaxation spaces unique, and it gives us great pleasure to share them with visiting families and friends. Decorating the home with antiques and finding the right architectural materials for the period when the house was built, while restoring it to its 1910s grandeur, is something we take great pride in, and are so glad that those details are appreciated!"

From the owner: "We're so glad you enjoyed your stay and took notice of all the little details we never expected others to notice. Most doors are original, but we had to find some that match the same period. The pine floors are 112 years old and were lovingly refinished and yep, the plumbing and heating and air units and ductwork are all new. We are so honored to share our home with you all"
