This vacation rental was just what we were looking for on Sisters weekend. Three bedrooms; two bathrooms on the water. Gorgeous view of Portage Lake. Though the bottom bunk beds were a little high off the ground for these 60 something grandmas, ALL the beds were comfortable. Plenty of towels, dishes, etc for our group. Little book of instructions was helpful. Kristen answered our text messages promptly. A property.

This is the second time we stayed at this property and the Owner does everything possible to make the stay comfortable, clean and well equipped. Other than providing your own food you need nothing else to have an enjoyable stay, well except for maybe the weather, and the host has no control over that!

We had several conversations, even before we booked it. The responses were almost immediate. We traveled with our son and his Fiance. They can’t stop talking about how much they enjoyed our little Labor Day adventure! We almost chose another property, in a different area, and are so grateful we didn’t! The lake and views are incredible. They have every thing you need for inside and outside. The decor is lovely and peaceful, it flows from room to room. The vaulted ceiling in the living room makes it feel so spacious. Our bed had an amazing pillow top that was like sleeping on a cloud. The kitchen is well stocked, lots of dish options. The appliances are all updated and the washer & dryer came in handy. They have a ton of games you can play. The outdoor patio furniture is high quality and gives a great vibe. The only negative thing is that we lost at nearby Little River Casino LOL! This is a Great little town and Portage Lake opens to Lake Michigan. We swam and floated a lot right in front of the house. The night sky was filled with stars, so quiet and serene. We cooked and grilled out, walked the beach of Lake Michigan and more. The EZMart store is so close, we made many trips there and loved their broasted chicken. I honestly can’t say anything negative. They even have a little because meet with additional information and recommendations. Their little touches, including lovely towels in the baths to kitchen towels and mugs with beach themes are so awesome.

The property is even more beautiful in person than it is in the pictures. The lake is just steps away from the spacious deck, which included multiple seating / conversation areas. This home is perfect for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a fun girls trip! Tim and Kristen were great hosts, easy to communicate with, and very responsive. 10/10 would recommend!

Our 2nd year and we LOVE it here! Portage Lake is just out the door and it’s great for swimming and fishing. The house is always clean, communication with the owners is answered promptly and the extras like kayaks and water toys are a bonus. We’ve reserved for the next 2 years and will continue to do so as long as we can.

This was such a peaceful retreat for our family. The house is beautiful and ready to provide entertainment and comfort for families! We very much enjoyed fires by the lake, sunset chats, and morning coffee on the porch. Definitely recommend!

Short weekend with friends. The house and everything included was absolutely perfect. Super clean and comfy. Everything we needed and more. Wish we had more time to stay. Very relaxing and peaceful area. Loved the access to the water. 100% recommended.

The location on the lake was absolutely perfect, we thoroughly enjoyed the great fishing, relaxing on the dock/easy access into the water, sunsets and the close proximity to restaurants and attractions. 10/10!! Beautiful, clean home!The owners communication made everything seamless, and we really appreciate how easy they made our stay. Just as advertised! Comfortable, beautifully decorated, lake house. Well appointed with plenty of nice bath and beach towels, dishes, kitchen appliances, grill, indoor and outdoor family games, and watercraft! Family enjoyed them all! So relaxing to sit on the dock in the Adirondack chairs! Lots of priceless family fun! Owners very nice and responsive.

Updated home on a beautiful lake

We enjoyed our stay at this lake house. It's located on a quiet street. The lake is larger than I had expected. The water is clear by the dock. We enjoyed using the kayaks. The home is nicely decorated with comfortable furniture. The kitchen has everything you need. We would definitely stay here again.

Our family ranging in age from 60 to 5 had a great time. The house was the perfect size for us and the location was on a quiet street and convenient to Manistee and Onekama. The lake water is clear and fairly shallow around the dock for our grandkids to swim. The fishing was great too. The house is stocked with everything you need and there are lots of outdoor/lake toys (kayaks, inner tubes, life jackets, etc.). We’ll definitely be returning next summer!

This was our second vacation at this awesome cottage. It is updated, clean, with terrific hosts. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the nice deck with new furniture, the big yard, and it was topped off with even better weather!
