The Magic Sands Retreat is a quaint 3 bedroom/2 bath cottage just around the corner from the famed Magic Sands Beach and the Ali'i Drive beach corridor. Just a 10 minute walk to the most popular beach in Kona!
This upgraded home shows attention to detail with an artists touch with many tasteful upgrades throughout including remodeled kitchen, bathrooms, flooring & Air Conditioning!
The home is nestled in the middle of tropical and mature landscaping. Enjoy the sounds of local birds in the trees. Although modestly sized, this home offers several areas for entertaining, reading a book or soaking up the sun.
The home offers easy access to Magic Sands Beach through a public deeded access trail. Great for a morning swim or playing in the surf.

Immediately upon walking in, you'll be greeted by a fully equipped kitchen adjacent to the Living Area. Kitchen features granite countertops, gorgeous cabinetry, Large Island, Dishwasher, Fridge/Freezer, Stove/Oven!

The Living Area is comfortable, dining available at the Island or the Dining Table. Split Air Conditioning System Available in the Living Room & All Bedrooms have Wall AC units!
Cable TV & High Speed Wifi Internet are featured in the property. TV in the Living Room!

One of the guest bedrooms is featured as a Media room 2 twin beds & has a Television/Air Conditioning.
The Master Bedroom has a Queen Sized Bed, Wall Air Conditioning Unit, and Private Bathroom with a Walk in Shower.
The Guest Bedroom that goes to the Lanai features a Queen Sized Bed & a Wall Air Conditioning Unit

Washer/Dryer Available for Guest Use at the home as well!

Awesome Big Island base for a Perfect Vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was in a great location and with the secret beach path it was only 3 minutes' walk to the Magic beach. The path is at the curve before the property just past the fire hydrant and telephone pole, there is a sign pointing to the beach the path has painter rocks very cool. The location close to many of the top sights, plenty of stores and nice and quiet. Lots of birds and small geckos, nice to see them each morning. The BBQ is small but very clean and easy to operate.Lot of fans and AC options in rooms to stay cool. Price was reasonable and when we needed help for something at the property, they would send help right away.I was good for the five of us and we highly recommend it considering the price and location

Remodeled recently. The deck is gorgeous and the kitchen is stocked with everything a family would need. We used the boogie boards provided and enjoyed the air conditioning when we got back from our adventures. I would come back.

We throughly enjoyed the property and appreciated the well stocked kitchen. The beach is a short walk from the home making it easily accessible. The remodel is beautifully done and decor really gives a Hawaiian feel that we liked. The airport is 30 minutes, Hilo 90 minutes and the national park 2 hours.

The house was very clean when we checked in. Very cozy and peaceful environment, walking distance to Magic Sands beach. Perfect for our family of 6. Only downside is the AC units in the bedrooms. It took a while for it to cool down the rooms. I would definitely recommend this property.

We had an amazing time at this property. the ease of walking to the beach was awesome. night time was a blast as you can walk over to the free area by the hose to wash sand off with and toss a fishing line in the water. we caught several fish that were good size. The surrounding food and shops were also a hit. This will be our go to spot when we come back.

This place was what we dreamed of. Easy location to beach, shopping, and snorkeling, but yet not a high traffic location. House was stocked well with anything needed for cooking and also hanging out on the beach. The house was very clean and well kept. We enjoyed the deck and the shade to relax when we weren't out and about.

There is no beach or ocean view as it’s blocked by a jungle of foliage…but it’s lovely and there are so many beautiful birds…the beach is 1/2 mile away

We're so glad that we found this place. It was even better than we expected - great place, great host, great location. The house comfortably bedded 6 of us (four adults, two kids). The place is really nicely cared for, with trees surrounding the entire property, giving it a hideaway feel. The two primary bedrooms both had sliding doors to decks, and the bathrooms were large and modern. The kitchen was big and very well appointed - we cook a lot, and found everything that we'd need, and a bit more besides. We had all of our meals on the deck under the flowering trees.The two bigger bedrooms have very comfortable mattresses. The beds in the smaller bedroom have softer mattresses. They worked for our kids, but might be a bit softer than some folks need.The hosts made our check in really easy, and left a bag of travel items just in case we'd forgotten something. It was a very welcome entry to the place. The house had beach towels and chairs, boogie boards - pretty much everything that we needed to just hop right down to the beach, which is a five minute walk.The beach had gotten washed out over the winter, so it wasn't quite as wide as it sometimes is, but the area feels very chill and not quite as overwhelmed with hotels as some other beach towns.Five stars, will plan on a repeat visit!

Cozy and centrally located!

Magic Sands Retreat was perfect! The property is centrally located. We were able to explore the entire island and come home to prepare quick meals in the well equipped kitchen. We loved all the beach accessories at the home. Having beach items made our experience at the beautiful beaches amazing. The home is surrounded by lush landscape that is home to many birds and geckos which our little one loved! The home is comfortable, cozy, well equipped, with lots of outdoor seating areas. We are also very happy with the property management company as they checked on our well being and were very accessible if we had needed any assistance. We would also like to thank the owners and property management staff as they were accommodating to an unforeseen family emergency requiring travel modifications. Our family was treated with respect, sympathy, care, and compassion. Thank you for sharing the ohana love!

Beautiful home

The home was lovely! We particularly enjoyed the deck and the numerous songbirds that visited the nearby trees, the plentiful beach supplies to help make our stay more enjoyable, and large living spaces.

Perfect Location and Home

We stayed 8 nights and were able to relax and enjoy the birds every morning and it was only a 5 minute walk to Magic Sands Beach. The property management team was very communicative and helpful. If you want a place to stay to relax, this is your place.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent a week at Magic Sands Retreat Hale in November 2024. The house is great, and the location canʼt be beat. We could walk down to Magic Sands Beach in just a few minutes, even though the neighborhood is very quiet. There were plenty of beach chairs, two umbrellas, boogie boards and sand toys. There was even a wagon that we could load up and take to the beach. The management company was very quick to respond to questions. I highly recommend this property.
