House needs a good cleaning. Bathroom floors need mopping. Upstairs shower is clogged. When missing a dust pan and trying to use a broken vacuum, I reached out to host and this problem was quickly resolved. Thank you. Great Location. Easy parking. Wonderful to walk to town or ocean.so close to Acadia. Lovely that my dog can come. These things add a lot of value but the house itself isn’t great. It’s not a very comfortable house. The couches in living room are in dire need of replacement. We got stuck in one of them. Literally. Furniture layout very awkward in living room. Not enough seating for a group to have a conversation. Even though there is a sign on the front door, I forgot and fell right into the living room as there is a step as soon as you walk in. My bad but dangerous design. Some simple furniture updates and better cleaning would make this a no brainer.

Our family has visited Bar Harbor often, and this was by far our favorite place that we’ve stayed. Loved being right on the shore path and close to town, but in a quiet and peaceful setting away from the crowds. The house is beautiful with lovely gardens, the beds are comfortable, and we had everything we could possibly need. Lauren was a great host and very responsive. We would love to come back!

We loved the house and the location was fantastic. So spacious and comfortable. Short walk to town by the shore and by street. Great communication by our host; she responded to our requests immediately. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Could not recommend this higher. Absolutely beautiful location, so convenient for downtown, and also a very short walk to the beach. Beautiful home, and very welcoming host. Exactly as advertised, and would love to stay again given the opportunity. We absolutely were thrilled to take advantage of the fire pit one evening, wonderful for a cold November weekend!

This home was the perfect location in Bar Harbor. We could walk along the water and walk into town. The rooms are spacious and kitchen was well equipped. Fire pit was a great feature for a chilly autumn afternoon.

Excellent location. The house itself is not as advertised however. '70s style construction, doors are hollow, furnishings older. Floor was vacuumed but apparently not frequently washed. Our socked or bare feet got filthy. The heat was an issue, when turned on there was very loud noise coming from a heater around the pipes in the kitchen sink which was persistent until the chosen heat level was reached. It was audible all over the house even with bedroom doors closed. I was told this was " normal for Maine" to keep the pipes from freezing and "nobody had ever mentionned it". It is not, I live in Maine. The kitchen had a full array of dishware but in terms of cooking there was no organization to the implements and the drawers were a chaotic mess that appeared to never have been organized or cleaned up. One of the cupboard doors fell to pieces when my husband opened it. We had to buy a can opener! The muffin pan we took out to make popovers was filled with rust. The stairs creaked. Not at all what we expected from the photos and description. And given the facilities seemed grossly overpriced. Enjoyed our time in the park and the location in terms of walking in town.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry the house didn’t meet your expectations — that’s never the experience I want guests to have. Our housekeepers work very hard and take great pride in maintaining high standards, and I appreciate their efforts, especially when accommodating your earlier-than-agreed check-in time. The home was built in the 1990s, and the listing photos accurately reflect its appearance and décor as they were prior to your arrival. We’ve invested significantly in the property over the years with continual upgrades and maintenance. All systems were inspected by licensed professionals and confirmed to be in good working order before your stay. While I did my best to address your concerns during your visit, I was disappointed to find the home left with damage and in a condition not consistent with our usual guest experience. We’ll continue working hard to ensure the comfort and quality our future guests expect and enjoy.

The location of this charming guest house could not be better! Such a short walk to the shore path which is one of the most beautiful walks in the world! And it was amazing how peaceful and quiet it was while sitting in the nice spacious back yard or by the fire pit or on the deck. It felt like you were so far from town but in fact the town was just a short walk away. Amazing how much privacy we had while being such a short walk from town. And of course our dog enjoyed the yard and house as well. The house is so comfortable too. We had a pretty hot week in August but the air units kept the house very cool. And the spacious open floor plan downstairs provided a great venue for everyone to interact together in the mornings or anytime throughout the stay. Plenty of room for everyone and of course we always had the option to use the deck or sit by the firepit! The bedrooms were very comfortable too. We all slept very well! Our one child slept on the couch bed in the family room and he loved it.And everything worked very well from the washer and dryers to the stove and outside grill and dishwasher and coffee machine and keruig. Its an older house but that just adds to the charm. It was the perfect setting for the 7 of us and our dog to enjoy an amazing vacation in one of the most beautiful areas.We most definitely want to stay here again! I actually am not sure I would want to stay anywhere else!

No Complaints

Perfect location, very clean, very spacious. You could probably fit 3 full families. Super close to town and right down the street from an excellent coffee shop. Will be staying here again.

Delightul

The cottage had everything we needed for our family. The privacy for the location on the tiny island and access to the city were perfect. It was a wonderful location that provided great access to Acadia NPS.
