We had an excellent stay at this location. The moment we walked in the door we loved the character of the home. Decorative touches were blended very well between old and newer. Each room felt open yet separated by arched doorways. Everything was very clean and presentable. The kitchen design was cozy yet more than enough room to work in. A spacious well laid out laundry room as you walk in the door. Every bedroom and bathroom had original door knobs and cabinet hardware which gave it great appeal. The downstairs bathroom had a crank out window in the shower that reminded me of growing up as a kid. Great for some fresh morning air while you take your shower. And it had a ceiling warm-air heater to help take the chill off the room. The upstairs lofts added an entire 2nd floor of room, with a full bathroom upstairs as well. While we did not have a chance to use it, there is an open fire pit with seating in the side yard which would be great to sit with friends or family. The location was quiet, no street or traffic noise. Only a couple short blocks to down-town. Overall the house was very spacious and did not make you feel cramped at all. You could easily sit and chat. The owner was easy to communicate with, and very helpful. The next time we come to the area, this will our first choice if it is available. This home was very comfortable, clean and welcoming. We stayed with our large family and there was plenty of room and everything was in great shape. It was our first trip to Middlebury and we could not be happier with the town and the beautiful home we stayed in. Communication was great- couldn't be happier!

The place was great. Adorable, right in the heart of Middlebury. Very cozy, and lots of places to walk to. There were a lot of issues with checking in. We were sent the wrong doorcode and then it turned out that the ADT system was left on when it was supposed to be turned off. We stood outside of the property for a long time. There was also a large security deposit that took two weeks to be reimbursed, although the host said they are changing that system. Still, the place was great.

House was very cute. Main bathroom had very low water pressure but the upstairs bathroom was much better. Conveniently located to Middlebury College- just on the other side of the backyard. Kitchen was well stocked.

We booked this VRBO back in jan. I have 4 children. 1 whom plays lacrosse at middlebury. We were bringing the other 3 to watch a lax game and celebrate Easter as a family with friends. We arrived at the VRBO after traveling ALL day with groceries and all only to find that the instructions that were given to us were not correct. We sat in the driveway for 2 hours trying to call the property owner to no avail. I finally called VRBO customer service and they couldn't get in touch with the property owner nor the cleaning service. After 30min the VRBO cust service suggested we cancel and get something else. Well, if you are familiar with Middlebury, you know that on a weekend during spring there is NOTHING else local. We ended up having to book rooms in Bristol for 1 night and then thankfully at the swift house for another night. We changed our flights to come home earlier as there was nowhere for us to celebrate Easter. This was a complete disaster of a weekend and a very sad way to celebrate being together as a family. Around 8pm that evening I finally received a text message from the property owner stating that they were overseas and were just receiving my messages. They originally told us that it was our fault and that the door just sticks a bit. After a few back and forth messages (NO phone call mind you), they finally said it was there fault and had forgotten to turn off the master lock. At this point our weekend was already ruined. We didn't want to deal with these owners.

Loved! Loved! Loved! Beautiful house and yard. We were there for a family wedding. House is within walking distance to downtown Middlebury and the University. It is completely handicap friendly which was awesome since we were with my 92 year old stroke surviving father with a walker. The owner and VRBO team were great with communications. The house was well stocked. Would highly recommend for a great stay in Middlebury!

Everything was great; the house is lovely and loved the interesting nooks and crannies within. Lots of spaces to read and enjoy the outside. Just two small issues… We arrived after check-in at 4:00 pm, used code to unlock door but within a few mins as we unloaded, alarm went off and there was no code for us to use. Tried calling number we had from VRBO but after about 5 mins on hold, alarm ceased. Only other thought was that it might be nice to have some mini soaps, shampoo & conditioner just in case.

Great home, great location

We had a family gathering (three sisters, 2 nieces, spouses) and this home worked well for all of us, with plenty of space for cooking, gathering, etc. It's a fabulous location, easy walking distance to downtown and with access to excellent walking trails all around Middlebury. The owner was in transition to a new management company when we arrived, so there were a few things that hadn't quite been worked out but communication was decent, and an issue with a door lock was quickly remedied by the owner calling a locksmith who came right away.On the other hand, we were surprised that, though the listing said AC was included, there were only 3 window units for the 4-BR home. We happened to arrive during a period of unusually high heat and humidity, so it became pretty uncomfortable inside the house outside the bedrooms, especially upstairs, and was too hot to enjoy the common area upstairs or the lovely outside area. Obviously the owners can't control the weather, but we felt the listing should have at least said that AC was limited to just 3 BRs. We assume it's much more comfortable most of the year. And we recommend checking with the owners ahead of time about what is supplied. We bought TP, plastic wrap, and leftover containers. There's a piano, which we enjoyed, and overall this place has the cozy feel of a much-loved family home. Recommend!

House was perfect. We stayed with our adult kids and grandkids which was us and three families. We were visiting family in Middlebury and it gave us a good sanctuary in between visits. I enjoyed morning walks while some enjoyed runs on the college track practically in the backyard. Easy walks to a nice bar for drinks one evening. We enjoyed a scenic walk with my parents around downtown Middlebury.

Middlebury retreat

This is a beautiful, clean home close to town. It was well-equipped and gave everyone (8 of us!) enough space. We really enjoyed our stay! The fire-pit in the back yard needs a re-do, but otherwise, all was great. Thanks!

Perfect Home for a Middlebury Visit

My son and husband thoroughly enjoyed staying in the comforts of this quintessential Vermont home. The house was conveniently located near campus, the communication with the owner was delightful, and check-in was seamless. The property was exceptionally clean. We will definitely be back—thank you!
