We had a beautiful and perfect weekend getaway. The cabin is cozy and relaxing in a picturesque High Country setting. Everything was so clean and had everything you could possibly need. Donna and Randy are amazingly kind and welcoming hosts. Our dog loved getting to run around and lay on the porch in the sun. We could sit on the porch listening to the creek for hours. Being a short drive to Blowing Rock made going into town easy with some beautiful views along the way. We can't wait to come back.

If I could give this cabin 10 stars, I absolutely would! The entire property is absolutely breathtaking. The hosts are incredibly hospitable and have left no stone unturned. This cabin will definitely be our family's go-to destination when visiting the Boone and surrounding areas.

We absolutely loved this cabin and the location! Comfortable in every way, has everything you need! The back porch is SO relaxing listening to the steam below and watching the deer run around. Our dog loved the large grassy area to run around. We enjoyed meeting Randy (host) and Rowdy their dog. Highly recommend anyone to stay here, as a matter of fact, already given several friends and family members the info to book. Nice easy drive to Blowing Rock. Book it now!! You will not be disappointed

What a fantastic property! Everything was new or in perfect condition. The cabin is a true gem and our Labrador Retriever lived the pond, stream and ability to run free.

I asked but never got a response about whether fishing was allowed in the pond, which it is not. The cleaning lady was still there when we arrived 30 minutes past check in. On the day of check in, i.e. too late to cancel, I was informed that I could choose between watering their plants for them or to have them come by to do it daily. After settling in, the owner knocked on the door with his dog and gun holstered in plain sight to introduce himself. The dog was allowed to roam free and did once snap at my child. I don't think the dog is vicious or threatening, just pointing out that there was one snap.Beyond that, the place was reasonably clean and provided a nice home base while we were exploring the area. It's not for me, but the vibe may work well with others.

Hi Jon, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sincerely sorry that your stay at our cabin was less than enjoyable . We genuinely want every guest to have a wonderful experience. Regarding the pond, we do not allow fishing, but we try to let guests know about several nearby fishing locations. If we failed to provide you with that information, I sincerely apologize. You mentioned seeing our housekeeper when you arrived. She was finishing up after preparing the cabin for your stay. With guests checking out at 10:00 a.m. and new guests arriving at 4:00 p.m., she spends much of the day ensuring the cabin is thoroughly cleaned. Many of our guests comment that the cabin is among the cleanest places they have stayed. You also mentioned the ferns on the deck. Because many guests enjoy having them, we include a note in our welcome email asking whether guests would mind watering them during their stay. We also let guests know that we are happy to water them ourselves or remove them from the deck if they would prefer not to have that responsibility. Finally, our dog is a very gentle and friendly part of our property. He is allowed to roam only when we do not have guests, and we always ask each guest in advance whether they would prefer that we keep him put up during their visit. When Randy spoke with you, we understood that he was not a concern. We are truly sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations. We wish you all the best in your future travels.

This cabin was ideal. Just 15 min outside of Blowing Rock yet felt like being secluded in nature. We took our dogs who were in heaven sitting on the porch all afternoon and evening. The sound of the creek was so peaceful and perfect for afternoon naps. The kitchen had every utensil and pots and pans you could use. We cooked a number of meals and never had to “make do”. The beds were super comfortable, the bath towels were fluffy and absorbent. The cabin was clean and furnished perfectly. The hosts are the nicest people. They gave us space but were always available. We are ready to go back.

Lovely

The property is beautiful and Donna and Randy are very sweet and accommodating. If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay, this would be it! I enjoyed afternoon naps on the back deck, and our pups loved playing in the open field.Blowing Rock was a perfect location for us, as we were looking for low key, short day outings. There are ample good places to eat out, and just a lovely area to walk and enjoy in town. (Also, a very dog friendly area) Nearby are plenty of trails as well.Randy and Donna live on site, so if you need anything they are right there. Another cabin being built on site will change the environment a bit, but all in all, just a lovely place to stay!

A True Home Away From Home

There isn’t much to say aside from the fact that this place is exactly what we needed. A true home away from home, even our pup was in heaven. Donna and Randy are as gracious as they come, and you’ll have everything you need during your stay with zero worries. We’ll be back! p.s if you bring your dog, he/she will leave with a new best friend. Rowdy the blue heeler is the friendliest host dog!

Stunning Experience at The Cabin!!

Exceeded all expectations & highly recommend this incredible cabin! So much charm & character! Extremely cozy, clean & welcoming! Great until Helene came for a visit

Unfortunately, we booked our 2 week vacation with Helene arriving during the first week. The cabin and grounds are lovely. Very good well-stocked kitchen (utensils), very nice grill. There are stairs but they are nice and wide with good side rails. Smart tv that allowed us to plug in our own fire stick and watch our YouTube tv As I said, Helene came in and that was after two solid days of rain before, so we didn't get to enjoy Blowing Rock or Boone but one day. We lost power and internet and had idea how bad everything was or when power would come back on. The property is shared (but private) with owners-thank goodness. They also had no idea how bad things were until they started getting texts from friends showing damage. They had brought us candles and flashlights but with no internet or power and low water pressure we got in my husband's car that has wifi and searched for a safe way home. There were trees down leaving the property but the owner had equipment to move them. We were very lucky we stayed in a safe area where there were no mud slides, but more lucky that we had the owners within walking distance that were our lifeline. They had to stay and deal with all the tragedy and lack or power and resources where we got to go home to-Milton :(.

Perfect Respite!!

This charming cabin was absolutely wonderful and the surrounding property was beautiful, only 10 minutes from downtown Blowing Rock. Donna and Randy were amazing hosts, along with Rowdy their adorable pup!! It was a perfect weekend respite!

Quiet and relaxing

Secluded property in a little valley with the sounds of a running creek close to the cabin. We saw deer by the cabin on numerous occasions. We were only 3 miles from downtown Blowing Rock. We have made numerous visits to this area off and on for 28 years and this cabin was one of our more memorable locations to stay.

Perfect Get-Away

This is an amazing, unique cabin with everything you need for a quiet retreat from the world. We loved the cabin and the setting. Blowing Rock is a charming town with many great restaurants and the scenery is beautiful.
