The interior of the property was very uncomfortable and the host very weirdly tried to gaslight us about it. We had two main issues. First, the air conditioner didn’t work. It took 6 days and repeated text messages and phone calls from me to get a person for repair- which was a 20 minute fix. For several days it was hotter inside than outside. Second, there was a construction crew onsite 8 of the 9 days of our stay. This was a planned solar panel install and had nothing to do with any urgent repairs. We were not informed ahead of time nor were we notified each of the days they came - the crew would just show up on the back deck while we were enjoying the view and our morning coffee. I repeatedly called and texted the host about both issues. He told me to take a dip in the pool to cool down and not to worry about the construction team. I contacted VRBO and they issued a full refund on my service fee. The host did not want to provide any compensation for the problems. In fact, he tried to add on additional fees after we checked out and reported the issues - which VRBO confirmed were not valid charges and should be ignored. For sure, the outside of the property was amazing - the pool, the ocean. It was fantastic. This is the first bad review I’ve ever written. I just wanted to get the warning out - I also read the reviews and appreciate feedback from fellow vacationers. If the host does badmouth me in his reply - you will see what we dealt with the whole time.
