We cannot say enough about what a wonderful stay we had and highly recommend it. It was heaven to escape the world and cosy up in this rustic cabin. It’s remote, but close enough to town to go out if you want. There were multiple hiking and biking trails near by to enjoy. Our hosts ensured everything was seamless upon check in and kindly reached out to make sure we had settled in. They made the cabin very welcoming. It felt like we belonged there.FYI, the tub is very difficult to get in and out of and the water temperature was very unreliable, but we didn’t mind. Bring your own shampoo, luckily we did even though it said it would be supplied, it was not. And if you like an extra towel to dry your hair, bring your own. There were only two towels supplied. There is not a tv, which was exactly what we wanted, but there is a diverse music collection from YoYo Ma, a personal favorite, to Greg Brown! There are puzzles and games for other entertainment. We had such a relaxing experience sitting quietly in the evenings with the fire on and reading the night away. It was cold during our stay, but we still enjoyed sitting on the deck in the big comfy Adirondack chairs watching the wildlife and soaking in the Lakeview. The deck was self enclosed with gates making it perfect for letting the dog sit out with us without having to worry about him disappearing. He loved his stay too. I think he was a bit depressed when we left and it took him awhile to cheer up after getting home!

Without repeating what others have mentioned, the cabin was clean, quaint, comfortable, quiet, and had character. My wife and I forgot what true quiet was. If you want to just hear your heart beat, you will love this place. Weather couldn’t have been better and the lake was like a mirror every day, we lucked out. Used their canoe and row boat often and fished off both docks. Cabin very cozy and stocked with everything needed. Owners were extremely responsive to any questions we had. Will miss the dead silent pit fires. Heard owls and saw bald eagles. Birds at the porch feeders abundant, just bring or pick up some seed. Wife and I enjoyed winding down the nights with fire on and picking a book from their library. Love the bathroom porthole. To find something wrong would just be nitpicking. We loved our stay and would definitely return. Thank you for sharing your property with us.

Our second stay at this secluded cabin wrapped in the forest was even better than the first! We loved paddling peaceful Bearskull Lake as the trees started to turn brilliant shades of reds and oranges. Stargazing from the deck was also incredible without any light pollution! We loved hiking in the old hemlock forests, driving up to see Lake Superior’s impressive waves, and staying tucked inside this cozy cabin on a drizzly day and watching the birds flutter about outside. Chris and Breja are thoughtful, responsive hosts, but we really had no issues. We hope to return next year!

We LOVED this home very much. It’s so unique. I could feel that it has a history. There are so many unique features to the home like a glass cabinet over the kitchen sink, a ramp and stairs for entry, and there are stairs or a walking path to the lake. The home has lots of windows. It has a beautiful outdoor space overlooking the lake and we spent a lot time there listening to the loons and watching the birds. There is no tv which was a plus for us. It was great to “unplug” from that. There is a hotspot which worked great. The home was super clean. The appliances were clean and worked perfectly. It has a very well stocked kitchen with every utensil you may need along with many pots and pans and a crockpot. There are 2 docks for fishing which is nice. We have a canoe and docking can be tricky sometimes. This home is everything we love about being in the woods. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful, private pier with small shore. Our pup absolutely loved it and we did too!! Everything we needed and more was provided!! The cabin was quaint with plenty of room, outlets. The deck is amazing, wrap around with gates to easily contain our pup. Host was responsive and easy to deal with.

We spent five nights at this lovely secluded cabin. Everything was as described. Our pup had a wonderful time exploring the property, as did we. We were not prepared for the amount of bugs, which I’m sure was compounded by the heat, but we loaded up on bug spray and made do. If we were to return, I believe it would be in cooler months. Thankfully the AC unit was great at keeping the cabin cool.

We enjoyed your cabin very much the only thing that would make it better is the bathroom could use some up dates. Like get rid of the bath tub and put in a walk in shower.

When we stepped out of the truck, we were struck by the beauty and complete quiet. The cabin is so charming, and Chris and Breja have set it up to make it easy to enjoy your stay whether you choose to cook in the kitchen or relax in the lliving room which surrounds you with the sights and sounds of the forest and lake. We spent a lot of time on the gorgeous deck up in the trees listening to the echoing loon calls and enjoying the flutter of the wings of the local birds. We loved fishing from the kayak and canoe every day and gazing at the star filled sky at night. Many midweek days we barely ever saw or heard human activity. Best week of sleep in years! We hope to return in the future!

Yearly Family Getaway

We had a great time getting away from the hustle and bustle of life back home and relaxing in this charming Northwoods retreat! We took advantage of all the lake and property had to offer. And we absolutely adored the “looney” neighbors!

Lovely Get Away!

We loved our stay at Bearskull Cabin! The hosts were very responsive to our questions. The property description was accurate and check in was a breeze. We were thankful for a place that welcomed our dog too. Our lab, Ziggy loved his daily swims and exploring all that the area offers. We were well situated for excursions into the towns nearby and took in a couple UP waterfalls. It was a perfect spot to unplug for a while. We brought our boat, but if you don't have one, the hosts have a row boat, canoe, and a kayak to enjoy the lake. We recommend Bearskull Cabin!

Incredible!

We had the best time here. This cabin is so cute. The lake was warm and comfortable, and the hosts were great. The perfect place to spend a week and relax. The shower is quite small in height- I was nearly at the ceiling and I am 5'5 so be aware if you are tall! We truly had such an amazing time and really enjoyed the ability to go swim, kayak, canoe, or just stay inside and be cozy. We hope to come back!

Fall colors

We had an enjoyable stay at the cabin on Bearskull Lake. Great weather, peak fall colors. Exactly what we were hoping for. The only downside was the loons seemed to have migrated for the season.

One Vacation A Year

Very quiet and relaxing cabin on a beautiful lake. We enjoyed the lake in the morning with the leaves at perfect peak time. The fog coming across the lake added to the view. The music collection was great and I enjoyed reading a ghost story by the fire place to my husband.

Perfect northwoods getaway

What a gem! We loved this woodsy and secluded cabin on a quiet lake. We spent our days wandering the property, going on canoe rides, barbecuing and campfires. I spent a lot of time relaxing and taking in the view while perched on the tall adirondack chairs on the porch. We easily could have stayed another week! Communication with Chris and Breja was excellent. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. Until next time!

Perfect getaway

Well maintained - beautifully nestled in the Northwoods with lake view from the sitting room and amazing deck. Could not have asked for a better place to stay for a birthday getaway. A kitchen stocked with spices and condiments - plenty of towels and bedding. Everything was perfect. There were even plenty of books and magazines (loved the Wisconsin history ones) and a great collection of music CD’s.

A Wonderful Retreat!

My wife and I spent a week at this cabin for our 20th wedding anniversary. We brought our 15-year-old dog with as well. We all had a great time. The cabin is quaint, clean and dog-friendly. My wife and I visited several restaurants - all within 15 to 20 minutes from the cabin. The hosts were very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. Lots of memories were made at the cabin, and I very much would like to return next year!
