Thank you Kendra for your kind review. We're glad that you had a good time. Hope is on the property every day. I wish you would have discussed the issues with the cottage with her so that she could have rectified the situation. Our cleaning crew doesn't always see everything, but we would have had them come back to clear the cobwebs and mop the floors. We are on a monthly service with the exterminator, so if bugs are found we would appreciate notification so we can have them take care of the issue promptly. Our goal is to ensure that every guest has the best experience possible. Trina

Thank you for your review. We understand that we had some issues during your stay and we tried to do our best to rectify them. We have owned the property for 4 years and continue to update the infrastructure and the guest experience. Unfortunately, the plumbing issue created the electrical issue, when our handyman turned off the power. It appears that we had a loose electrical wire that was ultimately replaced by the electrician. One thing we would have appreciated was if you were to give a complete account of what transpired. When we realized there was a plumbing issue, the handyman came over that afternoon. That problem was mostly resolved (there was still a very slight leak) until our plumber could get there. We asked you to refrain from using this shower. However, there is a second full bathroom in the home, which although that shower would need to be shared by 4 people, it was in good working condition. To alleviate the inconvenience that you experienced, our host made a reservation for your party at our favorite restaurant and presented you with a $150 gift card. When the electricity became an issue, we called in an electrician who diagnosed the problem and resolved it later that evening, once he was able to obtain the materials that were needed. At this time, the property manager offered to cancel the remainder of your reservation and give you a full refund for the last two days of your stay. You declined that offer. She also offered to allow you to use another unit which was vacant, even if it was to just use the shower. You also declined this offer. When you requested a refund for the last day’s stay ($349), we offered you $200 as we had already gifted you a $150 dinner, offered you early checkout with full refund and the use of another cottage. We feel that we did our best to address your concerns.

We’re sorry that you were disappointed with your stay. We have owned the property for just a few years and are working hard to make improvements (new floors, all new furniture, paint) without destroying the original charm of these homes which date back to the 1960’s. The Green cottage was the first dental office in the Keys and the dentist lived in the yellow cottage. I wish you would have told us about the bugs. We are under contract with an exterminator but even though he comes regularly, it is difficult to keep all of the bugs away. He would have come in to take care of the situation had it been reported. Happy to hear you enjoyed the pool table and pool. And I ordered a few more frying pans!
