Loved it! Great stay- house is adorable. Great kitchen and great backyard. Very clean- I was there during the hottest days of this heatwave and the air conditioners and fans worked great. I had zero issue with the street noise, a lot of reviews speak about this. It’s on a main road, but it’s easy to get to- it’s not crazy and the sound is fine. It’s no big at all. The bed is very comfy.

This was our 3rd time staying at college cottage and we enjoyed our stay again. It’s a great location, walkable to old town LaVerne, has quiet outdoor space and very clean.

We enjoyed our stay. The only complaint was no soap (bar or body wash). We bought a large bottle of body wash and left it for your future guests.

We enjoyed our stay at College Cottage. Amanda is a terrific and responsive host. The house was clean, had everything we needed, and was within an easy walk to old town La Verne. Loved the comfort and convenience!

This is such a cute little house in a lovely area!! We really enjoyed walking through the neighborhood after dinner and getting some fresh air!! We came from Phoenix so even though it was warm outside, it was not like at home. Our only issue was due to the AC in the home. Most hosts/cleaning people turn on the AC, lights, etc before you arrive, but that did not happen….the remote to do so was not even onsite. We had to wait for someone to bring the remote back to the property…and it was quite warm in there!!! Ultimately this was resolved and we had a perfect overnight on our way through California!!

Because there were two different pictures of the bedroom with two beds I thought there were two separate bedrooms with the similar setup. The listing was correct though and I did not pay attention to that closely like I should have. Maybe remove one of those pictures to minimize confusion, but I also should’ve read the description better.

We loved the cottage and its convenient location near La Verne and Los Angeles. La Verne was just minutes away and had everything we needed, including grocery stores, restaurants, Target, and plenty of shopping. The bikes were a wonderful bonus, and our kids had a great time riding around La Verne. We would definitely recommend staying here and look forward to coming back.

We really enjoyed our stay! The cottage is small, cozy, and very welcoming. We had plenty of room to stretch out. The hardwood floors and bay window are a nice touch. Even though the house is on a busy street, traffic noise was not an issue. Despite the June heat we were able to stay comfortable with just the ceiling fans, which is a tribute to how well the house is insulated. I enjoyed drinking my morning coffee on the back porch, and reading a novel in the afternoons by the fire pit. (If ever we stay in the winter, I'll definitely plan to use it!) We were having some work done at our house, which required we vacate for a few days. After checking in we were notified of a delay and the contractor needed an additional day. I contacted the owner (Amanda) and requested an extension, which she was able to allow. The location is great, we could run to Target for some last minute things, and we spent some time walking to Old Town LaVerne, which was really nice. We ate at a few of the restaurants and met some of the locals. Truly a wonderful experience. We will definitely look for another opportunity to stay.

Cute little house for a two night stay. Kitchen was fully equipped, AC and heat worked great, comfortable beds with extra blankets, and the place was very clean and remodeled well and the backyard was large with plenty of seating. Only complaints were the bathroom was really small, you would not want to be a big guy on that toilet with how close to the tub it is. House was old and had kind of a funky musky smell especially in the hallway that leads to the bedrooms and bathroom, we tried to burn a candle to cover it up but it really wasn’t a big deal. The house is also directly on a major road and can be loud even at night with sirens and what seemed to be street racing, one of the bedrooms faces that road and the person sleeping there had some trouble our second night. Driveway was also awkward to get in and out of but we have a modern car with good cameras on it so it wasn’t too hard to navigate but might be harder for someone with an older and larger car. Host was great! Communication was as prompt and clear, she delivered us some extra toilet paper and paper towels after we checked in because her cleaning person told her we might be running low. I’d be open to staying there again, the price was fair for what we got compared to other options in the area we needed to be in.

The best word to describe our experience at Amanda’s house is disappointing. We rely on the listing and the reviews to determine whether or not a house is a suitable place for us. The listing did not mention that the house sits on a major thoroughfare and looking at the map we were unable to determine that. One of the reviews said it was “quiet “ so that would lead us to believe it was not on a major thoroughfare. Day and night it was loud in the house. One night after we had gone to bed a truck passed by and the entire house shook. Some people may not be bothered by this but it made our week, day and night when we were at the house, unpleasant. Dirty laundry was left in the washer from the previous tenants. The dishwasher appeared to have clean dishes in it when we arrived which we left in the dishwasher.

The property was even better than the photos and owner's description. Cleanliness was outstanding and the host's instructions were very clear. Our family had a wonderful stay in this home and in the beautiful surrounding area. Many thanks for a delightful stay! We would definitely stay at this property again.

An adorable and cozy cottage - we only wish we had spent more time here! But it was a great launching pad for hikes in the mountains and time on the Claremont College campuses. The place is nicely decorated and clean, and the host was quite responsive.

Really cute cottage, and near the highway and stores. It was nice to have our own parking place since it’s on a busy street. At times we could hear road noise, but it was not an issue in the master bedroom at night.We were here when it was overly hot out. We were able to turn the mini split on in the dining room, close the other doors, and just leave the master bedroom door open. This made it cool enough for us.Two coffee pots available, both 4 cup drip and Keurig, and plenty of kitchen utensils.The owner was very responsive!

Great location for us but it is a high traffic area. A bit noisy but it did not bother us inside. Cozy cottage and the beds slept very well. Very nice kitchen and living area. Only asks would be to offer a body soap for the bath and tub and a coffee offering for the kitchen. Amanda was very communicative and responsive.
